sooo, it's a limo. how fast could it go. sure it'll be fast ona straight road, but handling would straight up be awful. creating that car would be an absolute waste of money. i can see it as a novelty, just cuz it would be a cool looking limo. but nothing more. why waste money changing the drivetrain and souping it up.

oh and you're wrong about the engines too, the Skyline GTR of each gen. came with those engines, but there are different versions of the skyline available: Source: http://www.meggala.com/skylines.html Quote:

if an lt1 (vette engine) fits in an s13, an rb26dett definately will. besides, its been done before heh.
thx for correctin me though :P i was more or less right about the engines. But hey, who wants a non-GTR skyline anyways? waste of money. Theres several problems wiht a skyline limo. For one, you would have to import it through a comapny called motorex, and for an r34 it'll run you >$100,000USD. Then get it into canada since canada has really bad import laws regarding vehicles. Then you're stuck with right-hand-drive. It would be a novelty at first, but im sure after a while it would get annoying. Last edited by specialkonrd; Feb 11, 03 at 01:13 AM. |

It *can* be done, but not without amazing expensive modifications.. Specificaly, adding a AWD drivetrain to a RWD car. so in theory you could fit anything you wanted in there if you really wanted to spend that much money. you're already wrecking the car by making it into a limo rb26dett in a s15 silvia rb26dett in a s13 silvia Those are both rb26dett's in silvias (Japanese 240sx) but they are not AWD. Think about the length of a silvia vs a skyline. An awd drivetrain means the engine would have to sit in the same position it would in a skyline in order for it to match up with the front axles, hence why the firewall would need to be pushed back. You can fit the TT in there if you make RWD because the engine can sit anywhere and you just have to make a driveshaft that fits. You would be looking at a LOT higher cost doing the full conversion then buying an r34 from Motorex. FYI: You can import skylines into canada that are 15 years old or more, the only problem is aircare and possible registration issues Here's some reading material on RB26dett swaps in s13s: http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/sh...light=rb26dett http://www.nissanforums.com/showthre...light=rb26dett Last edited by Miss T; Feb 11, 03 at 01:59 AM. |
