Sorry to bust your bubble but, looks like you where going only going 135-140KMH. Really not that fast. I was in a car, we did that going UP the Fraiser bridge, and 240KMH was last number on the speedometer.
It was the first time I've been in a car that as it turned the wheels on one side lifted off the ground. And don't for get that wieghtless feeling we got as went over the crest of the bridge. New west to white rock in about 15mins. The real kicker it was not in a 5.0, not a viper, not some silly wacked out stock car/street racing mod rice rocket. It was Ford Taurus SHO. |

crazy dave
one, thats not my car, its a car just liek mine two, its mph not jph. he's pinned the needle and is going in excess of 220kph. Thats actually as far as the needle can move before its abstructed, but the car is gear limited to about 230kph bob, its not the fact that he;s going that fast, its the fact he's managed to take a picture while doing that Last edited by specialkonrd; Feb 19, 03 at 09:25 PM. |

^props, I did not see that
PS the Ford Taurus SHO, is not fast off the line (who would guess, *gigles*) But at the point most cars die off it keeps getting faster and faster. Good golly, we pasted cars on the road like they where parket on the side. and yea, did I was the needle was max going UP the bridge... god only know 1) how fast going down 2) why we did not kill our selves and a few other that night. Specialkonrd, I'm just saying what we felt,,, and/or what we knew that kills people. Rolling wobble is what flips a car when you turn.
plus the way a car acts at 0-100 pulling trailer, is a lot different then 100 up not pulling... then again what do I know, we are talking about 4 wheels not 2. |

woodgrove mall in nanaimo to the info center on the road leading into port alberni: 33 minutes in an 85 toyota tercel hatchback.
it'd normally take 55 minutes going at a non-conservative pace. considering that my car tops out at 160 and half the route is on a windy mountainous road, it's quite impressive really. the run didn't entail just mindlessly pushing down on the pedal. nah... that shit was skill. |

^I know it's no excuse but it was many moons ago.
specialkonrd,,, then again 0-100KMH, not +240KMH. I'm not a mechanic but I do know a little about resonations. It could be that built in resistence to yawing cause a slight osculation, and once it started we where adding just enough energy to keep the cycle going. Where as if the roll was not dampened as much it would lead but not want to pull back as quick so would not oscillate. It could be minor slip age of the wheels as we turned, or difference in air turbulence from side to side of the car. I could be that car is more air dynamically stable in what would cause roll... I don’t know I don’t know much about cars, but I know what we felt. |

my fastest was from white rock to kamloops in 2 hrs 35 mins.
well - i was sleeping, peter was driving. the worst part was, we switched there - i took over and drove to edmonton, but i got a fucking ticket for going 105 in a 90 zone. you work it out and his average in that goddamn protege 5 was about 170 km/h on the coquihalla. wheres the justice? bren |
