I Finally got my AP Art portfolio back...

I finally got it back yesterday from the states. They didn't send me my mark yet, just the actual work and slides i sent in...

BUT get this...out of 15,000 portfolios, they selected a handful of portfolios to put on the AP website for future use. They'll be used to show what AP Art entails and what not...MY PORTFOLIO GOT PICKED!!! i was so fucking stoked. it's not my whole portfolio, just a couple of my photographs and art! wut wut

thanks man :) HOPEFULLY in the next 2 weeks? i'm not sure though. it's my first year of taking art so i'm not really sure how it works?

i'm not expecting a high mark though overall cuz some of the stuff i have in my portfolio is pure SHITE. ie. 3 peices i finished in 20 minutes the day my portfolio had to be sent off to New Jersey

-Pastel/soft pastel
-printmaking (ie. i just took layers of shit and threw them onto a peice of canvas and what not)
-figure drawing (ie. naked fat people)
-still life
-abstract acrylics
-graphite
-CONTE CRAYONS (my favorite)

how can you say CONTE CRAYONS are your favorite!!! I did a pictures of stupid artichokes for drawing and painting this year in different shades of brown...HOLY CRAP i got more on myself and my clothes and my face, then on the fucken paper!!!

Woooooo!!! I'm SO proud of you Sammy! :) Remember that thread that you posted about your art teacher being a dumb whore?! Well you definitely showed her what you and your work is made out of!!! Way to go hun. We gotta have our F&K art meet sometime soon, now that provincials are over.

And I can see what you mean about sexy when you talk about conte crayons. I LOVE them too. I've done a lot of work with them, but most of the pieces that I did are still down at Arts Umbrella. You should check out their Gifted Teens Scholarship Program. You submit 3 pieces of work and you get accepted into it (I'm SURE uou'd get chosen if I did). The course is free, and yeah...it' a very loose course. They don't tell you what to do, but they give you the chance to be in control of your work, instead of feeling worried about getting marked etc. Give you chance to practise, try weird and whacky things, different mediums etc. I'm not sure what the age cut off is, but you should call em up. The class is filled with a lot of talent, so it's great to be able to share each other's work and approaches. There's also an art gallery show at the end of the program.
