Ecstasy, freedom of the mind
At my first I dropped one back, filled with muse I sat back,
Then I began to fiddle with my hat, flipping it from front to back. Slowly as the night passed on, I began to praise the pill, for my mind thought on and on, I could hear and feel every last beat, hanging on by the edge of my seat, How could an illicit substance be so sweet, how could it take me away and make me move my feet, Now I'm moving fast and hard, at the peak of life dancing under these gorgeous stars. Everyone has gathered here from miles around, it's a rave, it's a party, it's humankinds euphoric peak, nothing here is bleak. Music is our religion, love is our way, freedom is our governing body as prejudice is thrown away. This wonder drug set free my tortured soul, I lived life for the first time while under it's spell, Yet one day I did rebel, finally seing clearly that this was a spell, Cast unto earth in disguise, you can see the truth when you look into your fellow ravers eyes. Drugs destroy all that is beautiful and great, Lose your home, lose your family, lose your sanity then come stand with me, at the brink of humanity. Watch your friends die, watch your loved ones lose there lives, watch your hole world fall apart and feel the bow travel strait through the heart, slowly, slowly, everything becomes dark. Someguy:
I like the way you wrote that. I'm feeling these lines in particular: "Slowly as the night passed on, I began to praise the pill, for my mind thought on and on," "I could hear and feel every last beat, hanging on by the edge of my seat," "How could an illicit substance be so sweet, how could it take me away and make me move my feet," "This wonder drug set free my tortured soul, I lived life for the first time while under it's spell," "Lose your home, lose your family, lose your sanity then come stand with me, at the brink of humanity." It hits fairly close to home too, much respect. |
