IMPORTANT UPDATE!

If you start to receive database errors unexpectedly when surfing FnK, don't panic. Please do not continue to refresh the page or visit other links within our site. If this occurs FnK will automatically repair its self on the hour. (ie. if crashes at 3:20pm it will work just after 4:00pm) I apologize for this, and am working hard on resolving the problem.

Well.. well.. we are back online. After two days of downtime FnK is back up and running, with minor loss. Before I get into that let me explain what happened (just so I don't have 20 replies asking what happened) Excuse me as I get technical.

On Monday, April 7th, FnK encountered a 'thread.MYI' error that causes significant database loss, and thread corruption. This has been linked to the servers upgrade of mySQL to version 4.0.12. Now as the exact cause is unknown the problem may re-occur.

After spending hours trying to deal with our host (VenturesOnline) we managed to have a backup of our database restored early Wednesday morning.

With restoring an OLD backup we have lost anything new (private messages, threads, posts) made since Saturday, April 5th We apologize for this, and hope nothing of extreme importance was lost.

We do not in anyway blame our host or our software, but have chalked it up to a random error caused by many factors all crashing together at one time. Now we do not know if it will happen again. Without any knowledge of the cause, there can be no assumption on how to fix it. We ask all our members to excuse the downtime, and bare with us through any problems that may re-occur.

We have big plans for FnK in the near future, along with a new dedicated server to give us all the elbow room we need to expand in many new ways with many new sponsors.

We are happy to have you as valued members, so please continue to use and enjoy the site.

Just wanna ask Myles...how often do you create backup? Ya shoud do it as oftenas you can (If you can)...I have a pentium one 166MHz 48 meg ram 2 GB Hard drive...It sucks shit...;p...but I make a backup disk(s) very often...Iunno how much it is for you or whatnot but It's just an Idea...Imma go ta schooooool...
