Girl Guide Cookies
drool, girl guide cookies. I used to eat so many of them when I was younger cause my neighbour friend used to be a girl guide, as well as the neighbour bitch behind my house. I noticed that their cookies look different from the ones they used to sell a while back.. are they any good?
Me n my mom were just talking yesterday about how we craved girl guide cookies... and were wondering when they were coming out. Apparently THE TIME IS NOW :PartEkid: I was d/t today and a couple of girl guides were sellin cookies infront of the art gallery, and I wanted to buy a pack but had no change :( Any one have a lil sis or something or know where they might be selling in burnaby? I WANT SUMMA COOKIES |

OMg girlguide cookies are the shyt!!
I was so frustrated with them when they started to sell those chocolate mint cookies.. and then they went to the chocolates with caramal.. which I do might add that those are awsome too... but nothing beats those original girl quide cookies. Chocolate on one side and Vanilla on the right... mmm mmm good! Its definately worth the $3 |

Christie the old prouducer of Girl Guide cookies wasn't prepared to offer the Girl Guides of Canada a contract longer then one year, and they couldn't garuntee the cost of cookie production in the next few years (something that is imparitive to a fund raiser)
Dare Canada has now won the cookie contract, promising costs for three years and producing cookies in a nut free factory (something Christie could not) Chrisite does own the recipie but are under contract not to sell or use it for something like six years - Girl Guides of Canada have been working hard in the last few years to modernize their image of cookies and camping - this company switch has allowed them to update the look of the cookie to better match the current vision of the organization. If you ask me, the vanilla cookie tastes the same and the chocolate has improved. As a Spark leader and cookie rep I had to go to a course to learn all about the new cookies..... Watch out in fall for the new mint cookie, I hope they are better then the previous ones - And if you want cookies I have 120, cases to sell, that's 1440 boxes :) there are no caramel Guide cookies - only these 'Classic cookies (spring) and the mint cookie (fall) No other guiding cookies in Canada - in the states their is 12 different kinds that's my nerdy info - Jingles |

^^ my dad was telling me about that the other day. he said the cookies weren't as good anymore either.
the girl guides should've owned the recipe to the cookies. then it wouldn't have mattered so much as to who the maker was. it would still be the same recipe. i wish girl guides still came door to door and stuff too. they haven't done that for a few years now. always only at malls and stuff, i rarely see them anymore.. |

I bought a box yesterday.
I haven't tried them yet though. I AM appalled though at the price. $4.00??!!! When I was a girl guide (yes. I started out as brownies and was in guiding for 11 years) the cookies were $2.50. And they changed their uniforms. Since when did brownies (aged 7-9 year olds get to choose what they wore?? When I was that old, my parents dressed me. Now they won't wear the brown cute dresses because they're not fashionable??! THEY WERE MADE BY ALFRED SUNG FOR GODS SAKE!? haha. bitter ex girl guide<--that's me! |

^^ $4.00 now?!
last year they were like $3.00.. and when i was still in girl guides, they were $3.00 (yea, i was a girl guide.. for 8 years actually) those dresses were made by alfred sung?! haha i did not know that.. i still have mine. lol i still want to try these cookies though. just to see if they are good or not. i wonder what the mint ones will be like? |

- cookies were 3.25 last year - but have been 4.00 in other provinces for years - Guiding Canada decided to make the price uniform across the country, instead of each province flailing around trying to male their own choice - I believe it'll be 4 for the next three years because of Dare's price garuntee
- the girls still go door to door - that choice of where to sell is based out of each community - for us in Poco there's no good time to go - people are so busy in that area where we meet that we were out for 2 hours and sold nearly nothing - where as in front of a store things go quickly - and when you are dealing w/ 16 five year olds you want things to be as quick as possible - the Alfred Sung dresses went along with an era of Guiding that was teaching girls to be good women, mothers and home makers - the new (but awful) theme of guiding is 'You go girl' and so new uniforms, like ones with pants just made sense for the type of activity we do and the changing face of guiding - it is no longer a manners course or a place to learn how to set the table, or cook and clean - which is why I decided to become a leader. :c-tard: - I live by Lougheed mall if any one is jonesin' feel free to PM me for cookies |
