Just a thought...

Hrmm how long has it been that you have to give your 2 weeks notice before you quit... i was just thinking of jerry mguire or whatever that movie was called...

It kinda sucks that you can't make like a whole scene and be like "FUCK YOU I QUIT" .... hrmm unless you give them a 2 week warning that you will be making a big scene and quitting in 2 weeks hehe :) just a thought

Giving 2 weeks notice it the polite thing to do.

If you are quitting you can basically walk off the job at anytime.

i've tried walking out on my job twice in the past month...
my boss calls me when i'm halfway to the bus stop, begging to take me back but not willing to give me any inscentive... what a cock...

but yea, 2 weeks notice isn't a law or anything... it's just the intelligent thing to do. you'll salvage a reference, and you'll buy yourself a couple more weeks to find a new job.

haha

it's funny you post this, because I'm having quite an issue with it at present.

2 weeks notice isn't exactly a legality, it's more of a formaity.

There are ways you *can* quit without giving two weeks notice and still stay on okay terms with your old employer, you can write them a lovely formal letter asking your notice period to be waived and reieved of your duties as of that time so you can start with your new firm right away..

then they don't understand the letter, still book you to work..leaving you to do nothing but work 2 jobs and go crazy, etc.

heh :(

If you don't give two weeks notice and make a big scene, you're pretty much fucked over with your refrences. no arguments. i mean if your quitting it probably means your looking for somthing better, theres no way that you'll get anything good without experience. and the only way to find out about your experience is through your work refrences, Trust Me! don't scrw yourself over.
