new Pics
So I had a shoot a few weeks ago, this is all I've received so far (via the photographers live journal). But I was anxious so I thought I'd share. I'll upload my faves to the gallery when I receive the photo cd in about a week.
Oh and here's the link to the photographer (www.visioluxus.com) This had to be one of my funnest shoots ever. I got to wear a black wig, yes me with black hair, for the second outfit and pretend to be a bad ass and trash the hotel room . And that button up top is the rad pvc Betsey Johnson top I found for a few bucks at VV. omg Jenna i love them! they are really good
i checked out some of his other work and it's cool to i wanna come to one of your shoots! or maybe next year when i have my 2nd year in visual arts photography(high school though hahaha) i'll be able to do a lil sumthin sumthin! i have ALOT planned out that i wanna do in visual arts next year and i'm hoping to get a good head start this summer cause i have alot of ideas! maybe you can model for me!?

Matt, the photographer is actually a female :P But yah she does some great stuff. I'm actually REALLy lucky I got to shoot with her, she's actually from the states and i messaged her a while ago just to tell her that I love her work and if by any chane she's ever near vancouver that I'd love to work with her. It was a complete coincidence that she was actually contemplating whether or not to come to Vancouver for spring vacation! I'd love to model for you! Just tell me when and we can set something up for sure. I'm getting alot more comfortable with the camera (well.. the people behind and around it is what scares me haha) so I'll see about bringing you to a shoot too. I always have to have someone with me for safety, it just depends on the photographer because they may be more comfortable with my chaperone sitting in another room or something so it may get boring for you, but I'll see what I can do :P You should hear the stories I've heard about problems photographers have with boyfriend or parental chaperones haha, so they are usually pretty sketchy about who a girl will bring, but obviously respects the fact we need SOMEONE there for privacy. Just don't pick a fight with the photographer and it will be fine haha.

I haven't paid one cent for my slowly growing portfolio. I don't do mainstream modeling at the moment so I'm basically independant. It would be difficult to find an agent that would invest the time and money to represent someone who does the kind of work I do. The big modelling agencies don't have the right clients coming to them to make a demand for models like me, not to mention some of them somehow assume I'm a porn star?? (even though I dont do nude, I just do TASTEFUL fetish). So yah, I've searched allover van for photographers who will do TFP (time for print) which is free of charge, unless they want you to pay for film or something which is no biggie either. Most photographers now use digital so its at no cost whatsoever. It's kind of a you scratch my back I scratch yours kind of part of the bussiness I've made my way into. It may take longer to get quality images than paying a proffessional photographer to do them all at once, but in certain cases its worth the hassle.
Once I get more well known, and get my site up I may pay selective photographers for certain projects, and by then i will hopefully get more paying jobs (I've only had one so far for a Fetish night flyer. Again there's not much PAYING demand for my type of modeling except on the internet like paysites, and some magazines. And until I have bills to pay I don't want to take just any job offered to me.) Thats the best way to build a portfolio. Not only will there be a huge range of looks, styles, etc. but its free/cheap. The big agencies will charge you around 500 for a portfolio, which is crap. I can give you a list of portfolio listing sites, a message board, and contacts for photographers I've worked with if you like. There's also a couple new agencies in Vancouver that aren't the kind of company that will tell a 500 pound manwoman that she has what it takes to be a supermodel, take thousands of dollars from her for courses then not get her any work. You either have it or you don't, and don't let anyone convince you you need to spend that kind of money on courses. If you are really serious about this as a possible career, have the money, and well I allready know you certainly aren't an ugly mofo :P, then go for it. but the cheapest way to do it is go time for print.

www.onemodelplace.com (this is probably the most popular and allows people to contact you without letting them know your email adress untill you chose to reply or not) www.modelingpage.com uuh.. this ones a message board for local models and photographers, the people on there are really helpful. So you can post any questions, and the fact that you'd like to do some tfp I'm sure you'll have no problem finding people to shoot with. I've worked with a few of the photographers that post there, and the others are their friends so most of them are legit for sure. be careful still though. http://www.fitcentral.net/bcmodelsandphotographers.htm And I'll get back to you later with the contacts for my photographers. You'll be able to get in touch with probably most of them through either omp or that message board anyways. hmm.. I thought I had more links, some of them are strictly for alternative models so that limits what I can reffer to you. oh well, thats a start. you can find more sites and info through those links and I'll get back to you if I think of or find anymore.

She said there probably won't be too many, but there should be a few AWESOME shots. But, as they say.. quality IS better than quantity so I'm fine with that.

in grade 4 i had a potfolio and pix done at coq center with nicole carlson ...
some barmason thing i really never did much but i remember skinny girls,my cousin diane took me. this was when she was modeling too. nothing famous but the walk an' make-up stuff.

haha, I remember doing catalogue and flyer modeling when I was little. And I used to do runway shows for Woolworths, walmart and my dance studio. That was funny :P

muhaha im doing this runway fashion show thing on thurs for the breast cancer agency.. im soooo excited. modeling for mantique, gap and laura petites. i tried all the clothes on the other day..oh it was so much fun to have someone dress you. YAY! its gonna be my first and last time on a runway..so yea! woohooo

Haha the cd is on its way. The photographer lives in Portland and emailed me on the weekend so... I'm not sure how long it will take to get over the boarder but I doubt it will be much longer. Then I will post a bunch of them!
