Plaza and stuff
With all this talk about Plaza and the recent ODing of a 15 year I've decided to change the topic a bit. Will there ever be a 19+ area at a Plaza event? I would love to attend an event and possibly purchase a scotch on the rocks. I think if it was like the VIP section and there is heavy security I think it could possibly make a lot of money. If the prices were resonable, even more money would be generated. But I'm sure they will charge Plaza prices. Heh.
19+ Areas are common in Toronto and 21+ in the US. Blah. Thats just my 2 cents. `Tim PS - The theatre room would own if alcohol was served. Breaks would be a bit more difficult to dance to when your stumbling. :284: |

Those B&H Gold Club events are typically sold out but that is only about 4-500 people.
Getting 1500+ adults to get an event going might be more difficult. However, if you just have a couple of major headliners and only do a couple of rooms and forget about the filler DJ's you might be able to make it work. For example: Kraty Kuts and Baby Anne for a breaks room, John '00' Fleming and AvB for the trance room all doing 4 hour sets and you would be rocking. What do you people think? |

^You'd never be able to fill the plaza with alcohol consuming adults with breaks/jungle headliners. It'd have to be a house affair with some trance and progressive in the main room.
However, I think the liquor licence at a plaza party would cost a pretty bundle and I doubt the plaza owners would ever allow alcohol consumption due to the floor stains from alcohol spillage as well as the general rowdiness that a 1500-3000 alcohol fueled event would bring. It'd work in Europe but not here since most chumps here dont know how to behave under the influence at a place like plaza. |

They have 19+ alcohol events at the Plaza all the time
Two that I always go to are the Brewmasters festival which is a beer tasting event and a Martini tasting festival where it's an all you can drink festiva with food included. The Brewmaster festival sold out this year and there was easily 1000 people in the main stage area tasting the 20+ types of beer that was being served. The event doesn't go all night, but after 4-5 hours of solid martini drinking I couldn't last must longer anyway. |

I used to work at Science World a while back and this cosmetics compnay rented out the entire place for a party.
We had a dance party after the movie in the theatre and the 10,000W sound system in there is insane. The walls of the globe were shaking to the bass when we turned it up a bit. |

I think it all comes back down to clubs that can accomodate large groups of people with multiple-genres.
My dream of a 3 level club with trance/progressive on the bottom, hip-hop & breaks and the top be house will come true. The club cant be sleezy, it must be a place that everyone wants to attend. The levels must be nicely sized, not just a storage room with turn tables. Has anyone been to the Caprice? I heard its pretting bangin? It jsut opened up 2 weeks ago. I can't wait to hit it up. |

Because majority of ravers are Under 19..... why would they want to block out that entire age group just so that some of the adults would be happier... their looking for money when they throw a big party... and the more little kids there are the more money they make

There is a Vancouver and I think BC by-law stipulating that in ANY establishment, you can never have achohol consumed at a venue where there is both under aged and of aged people. So that means EVERYONE at The Plaza of Nations would have to be ID'd at the door and be 19+ for a liquor license to be approved.
It's to bad really because Toronto has seperate sections like that in bars even! So there is like under 18 people in one area/floor and then 19+ on a different floor. |
