Flyers from Toronto
I found a stack of flyers that I collected from my trip to Toronto last summer. I had a blast running around downtown TO gathering flyers and reading the profiles of there local DJ's. Man, I want to head back to TO and attend a party. Who's down? Heh.
Most of the headliners on the flyers were jungle/dnb, hardcore or trance. Unlike Vancouver where its breaks instead of hardcore. I suppose im not used to seeing artists that I don't know. I did recognize Czech, Marty McFly & Grooverobber. A lot of the flyers were either really cutesy with butterflies and lots of color or dark and scary with flaming skulls. It seems Vancouver has much better graphic designers. More technology based and originality. I think flyers for TO parties are cheesier than Vancouver ones. `Tim |

Turbo's closed. It was great when it was an adult-rave place. But then they banned glowsticks and phat pants. It was dumb.
Guvernment is full of ginos, or as you guys call 'em, bar stars. System is good if you like prog-house and shit. As for fliers, you're just looking at the wrong ones. Check out my friend's designing for his monthly thing @ WTF. There's a link at the bottom to some older ones. Hullaballoo still has good fliers too, although they're parties aren't nearly as good as they used to be. There's also Digital Tangerine, but they don't throw parties very often anymore. Part of the reason that fliers here in Tdot aren't as good as they used to be is because the scene has shrunk. We're back to a small more community based scene, while when you were here last summer it was still "cool" to rave. But yeah... you just gotta know where to find the good fliers (and the good parties). |

ya i guess your right..the flyer that i got for our new years party wasnt that bad looking but i dunno..it wasnt great either....plus most of the raves that go on in and around ontario are bar based and flyers for bar parties are never very big. plus when i was in tdot i found it hard to find flyers for anything and i think the only reason i found any at all was because we went record shopping and it was new years eve.... but all in all its going to be a huge shock to your system when you come to realize that torontrians are much nicer and less of oh what should i call it....they arent as hmm...bitter i guess....just beware!!!! |

Blah, now you guys are complaining about the name of the parties? I think the name of that toronto party is hilarious. i'd go to that at the drop of a hat. To toronto, their locals probably feel like how our locals feel. unappreciated. and in tdot, they might even appreciate the quality of OUR dj's. I drove krafty kuts to the airport and he told me straight up that there are more talented dj's than him from vancouver.
can' we just party to have fun? who cares about criticizing the party. as long as the music is dancable and at good quality, i'm happy. i don't need to go around and poke fun at ravers to have fun. I don't need to racially and culturally profile people just to feel better about myself. bar stars are cool. candy kids are fun. so SHUT UP YOU!!! |

would you like fries with that shake 1 has been announced. I cancelled my going-away party because of it.
Fucking Cuggy. Grrr As for local djs, it's the same here with them not being appreciated. But, foreign djs aren't really appreciated that much either. Torontonians are just bitchy. |
