Get the expensive french over with:

Lumiere
le crocodile - GREAT service, but then again you're paying a hefty amount for what you stomach.

Lombardo's Pizzeria .. AMAZING pizza, modestly priced.. They cook their pizzas in a wooden oven. It's absolutely delicious and great fun watching them toss the dough up in the air as well as make the pizza right infront of your eyes.

Hapa-Izakaya - \hip and modern, thoughtful interior designing. It's definately for the youthful and open-minded. It wouldn't hurt to have some cash-flow too. The price is modest as well as affordable. It's tapas style so it's more fun to try a wide variety of foods with a group of friends. I got the impression that it was fusion food: mainly japanese food with a modern, western twist. Would appeal to wide audiences, especially the atmosphere... Definately trendy. It's located on robson, but you would BARELY recognize it if you passed by it.

Vancouver Hotel Griffins: I only go here for the bouffet. Affordable good food, good variety. The lunch bouffet is around 20-sumthing$. If you're low on budget just grab a friend for some coffee and go for the dessert bouffet. :toasted:

Takumi : Located in Burquitlam plaza.. No offense but those non-japanese owned restaurants really can't beat Japanese owned sushi restaurants. locations that provide all you can eat sushi, are most like to provide QUANTITY rather than QUALITY japanese food. If you're looking to fill an empty stomach, then all you can eat may be for you, but if you're looking for quality japanese food, try takumi..

FUJI sushi : If you're looking for cheaper, but great quality jap food, go here. My family frequents this place. Sure it's a small location but it's almost always packed. Yet again, japanese owned...

will post more later.

Lumiere (great food/service, but pricey)
The Naam (!!!)
Benny's (but more for the atomsphere than for the food, although the bagels are great hehe)
Kimi Sushi (um, not 100% sure on that name) (yup, right on Rumble, THE best beef teriyaki)
Hanwoori (Korean food there is allright, but not the best...)

I checked out bridges restaurant today...

Bridges: located on granville island.. beautiful waterfront view.. dine inside or out. Entrees average at about 30$.. and the appetizers around 13$. Desserts around 10$.

The food is really good, but it's not quite my favorite style. (western). Good service, Good food, Great view. It's quite a tourist-y restaurant though.
