Candy-Coated
This is the second poem I'm posting, and I definetly enjoy this one more than the other which was more for entertainment purpose's. I don't know if i'm the only one on FnK who's disguisted by the sight of these little twelve-teen year olds dressed like they're going clubbing, and attempting to come off as "mature." But anyways I decided to write a poem regarding this whole subject.
Candy-Coated Candy-Coated lips amidst soft golden strands/ giggle mastered to perfection: batting eyes, graceful hair sweep/ Tiny, hungry stomach decorated with jolting ribs/ little cut-off shirt displaying what her premature body has to offer/ Mindless, empty answers delivered with no understanding/ Ignorance is bliss and she is oblivious to what the world has to offer/ Striving for acceptance, the need for acceptance/ Unaware of reality and everything non-materialistic/ her world is merely consumed by lip-gloss and unskilled cigarettes/ She works hard at living up to society's "perils of perfectionism" and its idealistic image/ Neutral to all emotion/ She bites her tongue as she swallows her tears and hides behind a painted smile/ Something she's done all her candy-coated life. |
