Why anyone would want to buy someone else's creation/pride&joy/problems instead of creating something of their own is beyond me. If you've got the money to buy one already done out, you've got enough to get a really good start on something of your own.

However, if you go to any lowrider/import show, I garuntee at least 10% of the vehicles being displayed are for sale.

Unless you have everything planned out, and all the cash to do it out ready, its gonna be EXPENSIVE to do out ur own car.

If i had all the money i spent on my s13 from the start, i would have bought a blown engine s13 for 1500, swapped an sr or ca in it, had a bodykit, full suspension, and plenty left over for some crazy paintjob

Thats why cars like these are known as 'projects'. You don't have to do everything at once. These things usually take a while to get them into the state you see them, unless it's a trailer baby and the owner has wads of disposable income (or is in the pro series and is sponsored, in which case some company usually owns the car and uses it mostly for advertising).

It's also the reason you get slightly older cars with all these crazy mods. Get yourself a cheaper, older car and have more money left over to start working on it. I could buy a new Civic (or the one in Toronto) for $18,000 or you could get a '97 (as above^) for about $6,000 and have $12,000 to do whatever mods you wanted. And have something original that you know the history on, and have watched the building process almost from day one.

I can bet that car is on it's last legs, by the way. 9 times out of 10 kids are more concerned with getting their cars looking good as opposed to keeping them in good running condition. Having been in an import car club in the past, I've seen it many times.

I dont know where he's gonna find a 97 civic for 6000 lol

But considering that guy has a JDM B16 in there, he's probably an enthusiast, not your average ricer. So, I would ASSUME that car is in decent condition. JDM Engines usually are only imported from japan if they have low milage on them (<50,000km).

Theres no taxes or anything, im pretty sure you would just have to pay to have it shipped by train out here (about $700) and all the usual fee's encountered when transfering ownership. Im not positive, but the car MAY need to pass a provincial inspection, and you're almost certainly going to have to do aircare. I dont know about honda, but nissan JDM engines don't have EGR's, making aircare a nuisance. But you should be find if you slap a CAT off a big v12 pickup or something on there.

hhaha yea....its a 97 civic si...its atleast 9 thousand....

but yea...the engines got only 50000 kms on it...and it is in good condition, garage kept, oil change every 3000 kms or sumthin like that...i would post pics but im not sure how to =P

specialkonrd, how much is the fee for transferrin car ownership?? thats what im worried about cause im not sure...yea..the 18000 includes shipping so hes sellin the car at 17200...i think its a good deal considering the jdm engine has low kms, and its got full sir conversion, 5 lug and jdm rsx-r rims with the jdm tires..that would cost and arm and leg to ship over

Sorry.

I should have realised you were after instant gratification and had no intrest in taking pride in building something of your own.

Carry on.

To be honest wiht you, don't get that car. Everyone and thier mom (LITERALLY) has a done-out civic in this city... I don't even look at those ugly things any more. Be original, and pimp out something other then a honda.

on one hand.... if you buy a car that has bee modded already your gonna save a shit load of money. modding is expensive... but you'll never be able to sell it for more money just cause you've done shit to it. so you'll be able to pick up what you want for cheaper. but on the other hand... you know the car has been fuct with.

toyota is probably the most reliable of all the 3 big jap companies.
Honda is probably worst, Nissan isn't GREAT but not bad, but they have VERY strong engines...

And you're comparing a 400$ alternator rebuild to a $25 junkyard alternator heh
