It's a type 2647, T22.
It's a PIMPIN laptop. But yeah, i think he's fucked. There HAS to be a way. Just has to be. They say you have to get the system board completely replaced. I call bullshit. There's gotta be a master password or something. |

depending on the type of board it's on you might have a couple options... killing the power to your board (i.e. removing any backup batteries) will reset your bios completely, including the password. some boards have idiot proofing built into them by way of a jumper that skips the password check, though if the IBM dudes are saying you have to replace the board i doubt your dad's comp has that... hell, if it's new it probably has features built in specifically to keep you from flashing it.
short answer: yes, you're most likely screwed. Last edited by dfltr; May 21, 03 at 01:28 PM. |

I've already tried unplugging the battery and leaving it off for a period of time. ( 1 hour ) But i just realized i had the main battery plugged in as well. i'll try that as well. I'm gonna open up the whole thing. Finding the internal battery was fairly easy, so i suppose that there's another one deeper in. My uncle never set a supervisor password, i wonder if that's my ticket to crackin this shyte. who knows. thanks for your help.

this is my best bet so far if unhooking all batteries doesn't work.(most likely). this guys method sounds good, but it could be a load of crap. |
