I thought it was such a close call (not at all like last season when it was OBVIOUS that Kelly deserved to win...which, while I'm on the subject....Kelly's performance of Miss Independent was TERRIBLE tonight...it hurt my ears....). I wanted Clay to win, but Ruben deserved it just the same. I think they'll both do well, regardless of the outcome....=)

im glad ruben won, cuz clay looks like bambi. even though i have to admit clay does have a better and more range of a voice than ruben... it was a close call and both of them will hit it big. ruben has teh most adorable smile. =)

Take a bunch of people and make them famous while they do nothing but sing cover tunes!!! I'd appreciate the show much more if they brought people on who did their own material. I mean there is no doubt that these people are talented (ie: great voices) but wouldn't it be better to see truly talented people (ie: writers) who do their own music, lyrics, etc....

FYI - Kelly co-wrote 4 of 10 songs on her new album, and I'm sure she would have written them all herself if BMG would have allowed her to. Also, Tamyra Gray (4th runner-up last year) makes a guest appearance on a track that she also co-wrote.

Oh, and did I mention that her album is AMAZING!

This season it was all about RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUBEN!

However, I don't see how this season's top 10 even compares to that of last season. Tamyra blew Kimberley Locke out of the water with her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, as did Justin to Clay with his version of Unchained Melody. This season's top 10 may have had more decent singers, but overall, last season's top 10 had more great singers.

(ps I have no life now that American Idol is over, thank god Canadian Idol starts in three weeks!)

Jen: I don't really like "Miss Independent" that much, but you should really d/l "Low" and "You Thought Wrong" (feat. Tamyra). You won't be disappointed!
