Chicken with peanut sauce (ask to see if they have crispy spinach) is a NO FAIL mouth waterer. That is if you like the taste of peanut butter. Order that with sticky rice, and Tom Yum soup. It usually comes with the options of vegetarian, shrimp/seafood, and chicken.
There's also dishes like lemongrass chicken, if you're looking for a more traditional taste. I'm no thai connoisseur though, so anyone on the board who is, feel free to add some suggestions! Oooh, and if you have room for dessert, make sure you get fried bananas. Usually comes with ice cream and it's SO good. I haven't had that for years now! Mmm, they also have good lychee ice. A good place to go is called Montri's. Look it up in the Yellow Pages...if I'm not mistaken, it's around Alma. A bit more $$ than the regular places like Thai House, but it's definitely worth it. |

YES! I know this little place on Main that has the best Vietnamese noodles I've ever had. It's this little dump of a place, family run...the best food usually comes from restaurants like this. They don't serve all the other stuff that regular Vietnamese restaurants do, but their noodles are so good...the soup has a strong lemongrass flavour. The soup is always the key to a good bowl of noodles. :P The only requirement of the noodles is that they have to be kinda chewy...know what I mean?
Mmmmm, I'll take you to Montri's too. hehe. My friend Marianne (she lives in Van but I met her at McGill) is just waiting for me to come back to explore restaurants together. We should all go together sometime...but I want Yoko alone most of the time. :c-tard: |

I've been to Thailand, but it was back when I was prolly around 4 years old.
I have this picture of me sitting on a bench with a monkey pawing at my bum. I was scared as hell so I didn't move and just sat there and cried. Couldn't figure out why the monkey wouldn't leave me alone until my Mom made me move. Turns out I was sitting on a couple of peanuts. :284: |

hmmm, for something a bit more common, try the chicken with peanut sauce. it usually comes with a side of crispy spinich. the tom yum soups are always good as well. you can usually choose what kind of meat you want in it (chicken, beef, shrimp, or just vegetable). pad thai is very good as well (thai noodles).
