Life
This how I feel every day.....
Just a cool little story "An activist friend once told me of a conversation she'd had with her grandmother, a devout catholic. The two were watching a television program about prisons. My friend commented that yes, jail food did in fact taste terrible. Her grandmother was shocked and asked how her darling granddaughter could possibly know. "I've been arrested several times, Grammy." Silence . I can only imagine the possibilities running through the grand mother's head. Finally my friend continued, "for sitting down in front of bulldozers that were cutting logging roads into ancient forests." "Why would you do something like that?" My friend thought for a moment, then said, "What would you do if someone was going to run a bulldozer through St. Johns cathedral?" Her grandmother looked at the television, looked out the window, then back to her granddaughter. She said, "Next time, don't take on those bulldozers sitting down. You stand up for yourself." Derrink Jensen- A language Older than words I think this means something different to everyone. What does it mean to you? |

That an oral tradition is key to creating a sustainable community. A community that passes on lessons and encourages learning. Unlike out current state of affairs that creates a competition in educationThat communication on that level could bring the power base of citizens(those with out huge amounts of money) to a degree that would have power unknown in our democracy. That Gramas rule.
it also tells me that you've been reading some good shit. That I better find a copy of that book. and last it tells me that the beach is going to hear some wild rambles with wine shinanigans when you get back. peace out wierdy Keith |
