I Finally found a JoB
Heh, i finally found a part-time job at "Drake Industrial". The good thing is that it pays 11$ p/h...the bad thing... my hours are 10.30 PM to 6.30 AM.... :soak:
Im gonna be in shipping and recieving, 8 hours of backbreaking labor... FUN TIMES!!! :finger: Oh well, now atleast ill have some spending monies now, though i will have no time to spend it, as i also have a few odd-jobs on the side...heh... I think they are gonna call me in like 2-3 times a week, which is great by me, its hard work, you have to be able to lift 70 pounds over your head for 8 hours, with only a "lunch" break (at 2.30 :p) and a coffee break...damn, im gonna get majorly beefified God, im so happy that i didnt find a retail job, i hate that shit, for some reason, i think im gonna prefer this...heh Oh well, just thought id share and rub it in the faces of all the people that called me a lazy shit for not being able to find a job a few weeks ago :) and probs to all the people that gave me some pointers. |

isn't drake a temp. agency?
oh well, congrats on the job. i've done a lot of shipping/receiving heavy labor jobs in the past... it's not as bad as some people say it is... but it's one of those jobs where either you can hack it, or you can't. just don't be a whiner, nobody likes a whiner... pack a big lunch and don't jerk off in the morning. |

the average shipper/receiver makes under $10/hour...
it's an entry level position and you don't even need half a brain to do it... unless it's a unionized firm, you shouldn't be expecting much more than minimum wage. honestly, how much would you pay someone to tape up and carry boxes around all day? if you've got a forklift ticket, you get an extra dollar, if you've got industrial first aid, you get a couple extra bucks, other than that... you're just a grunt. |
