mother earth, father industry
in a field of poplar, a child once played,
laughing and dancing in paradise made from a forest untouched. and just as peace endured fray, and dreams outlived the alluring break of dawn, a b0nd of child and earth grew forth. in time, fate would find the child as a young adult, discovering himself in a world that had hardly begun to discover itself. child and earth- side by side, hand in hand to progress and evolve until destiny’s grand falling out; the child wanted more than the earth had to share. so that child did age at the burden of earth for the joy of cheap thrill must have outweighed the worth of the planet he once loved. poisons spilled from every facet of his greedy self, willed by his thirst for more and more and more of the irreplaceable. earth perished: conglomerates thrived as diversity was destroyed. and if only the child had not been completely devoid of all sensibility, his life might have been reflected in his son's.......... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- in commercial filth, a child's child now lies, sobbing and coughing in wasteland derived from a forest forgotten. and just as smoke stacks burn through protest, and loggers never lack conservative support, a b0nd of child and industry grows forth.
