Shade and Shadow

The shade creeps cross the candle-lit wall,
it's form but a darkened shrowd.
The darkness would try to catch the shade,
and the shade would laugh aloud.

"Silly thing," cries out the shade so fair,
"you simply cant catch me.
"My form will always escape you,
"my being will always be free."

"I do not wish to trap you, my love.
"I simply wish to dance with you.
"I just wish to hold you tight,
"and make all your dreams come true."

The darkness did billow, and then pull taught,
and a shadow in it's stead there.
It crept so close along the candle-lit wall,
and it danced with the shade so fair.

This is a love poem I wrote for my former girl just more then a year ago. Its not one of my best poems, but it is the only one I can find right now...

She did, but I just had a goth, angsty feel to my poetry due to the people I hung around with at the time. Now when I write "Goth" poetry, I do it simply to mock the REALLY cheesy goths. They get so mad when you write better poetry then them....
