Since we got the 2010 Olympic bid...

Do you plan on hitting up any 'all night dance parties' when the games are here?

I do! :c-tard:

RAVE TO THE GRAVE!!!

We should have an F&K reunion rave for 2010 games -- that way lots of us can be old together..and still rave it up!!

Raves wont exist in 2010, but I can imagine some HUUUUUUGE club nights emerging by then, especially since MoS may be bringing a night here and other such big club night happenings!

The Olympics could do wonders for our nightlife! I can't wait to come back in a year and see how it's progressed. Can't wait to c the house scene, especially with our growing producers.

BTW Sandstorm is sweet, but only because Darude is from Finland :tounge1:

raves, as they were once known in the years following the birth of acid house, might become exinct. but gatherings resembling them won't. groups of people congregating late at night, doing things they should be doing, and dancing to music is something that will always exist. surely, clubs can provide for most. but for those who want a bit of freedom, or perhaps a less commercial environment, rave-type events will persist.

during the olympics, as they would take place in late winter, there probably won't be many of these events. this is mainly because all availiable warehouse space will be used up for media, storage, and anything else. abandoned buildings will also probably be torn down to spruce up the city some. about the closest you'd get is a house party, of which you'll have a plethora to choose from.

taking a bit from column a and column b, i doubt most of us will be getting any sleep around 2010.

then again, most of us will almost be 30. eek.

oh yeah, the one thing that i can't stop thinking about is how the pot issue will work out.

i have a feeling it's going to be a HUGE issue for the media. it might even be a huge issue for some governments. how much of a protest would the extreme right (or left, for that matter) of the US senate put up? could they gain enough power to boycott the games altogether?

more importantly, would the jamaicans bring back the bobsled?

(props to frosty for that)

you've got 7 years, ash.

i'm not too sure what angle the planners are going to use with vancouver. but, given our reputation, it could be one stressing diversity and openness. if so, you might be able to make a case for urban art and even get it showcased around the city. this has been done before, of course, but usually in isolated situations. this would be an opportunity to set a theme throughout the city, something like what small towns do with murals to get tourists.

you might think this is selling out, and it probably is. but it's also a way to help graffing gain acceptance as art. not to mention a way to get a name out for all those who worked on the pieces.

now, you have 7 years in which to learn how to make a portfolio, a presentation, and learn how to spell. go at it. :)
