well you may want to start by using a better snare than the 909 one :)

I like what your doing so far, the drums just need a bit more processing.

play around with various envelopes on the snare drum.. right now it goes DSSHHHHHHH..... I think it should sound more like PSSHT... maybe play around with the decay rate a bit.

One thing I've been in the habit of doing lately, is, before writing the rest of the track, get a good solid punchy kickdrum + bassline. get the compression and eq all set up on both your kick and bassline, and make sure they don't clash and muddy up at all in the really low frequencies.

If you start your track with a solid base, it'll generally sound alot better alot quicker.
