^^^any reasons?
going to school 4 days a week means less working = less income for me... and damn my parents haven't been supporting me for about 2 years now...where else can i get the money from?! i did my very best with scholarships and bursuries..not like its that easy to get a full ride scholarship... even though i have numerous friends who did get one. |

im going to emily carr..and no way i can pay for that high tuition and the ginormous amount of art supplies that i need by myself... by working at old navy 2-3 times a week?! HA! thats a joke. i went to a student loan seminar and there isn't a time limit for you to pay it off...they keep track of where you work in the future and will take portions of it..but they dont RUSH you and the interest is ridiculously low. like i said.. my asian parents are gonna step in with their retiring fund and do some magic...."they said". we'll see.

But if you need the money - lets get the facts straight , you have years to pay off a student loan once you graduate, even if it's non-government. A bank student line of credit gives you up to 7 years after grad to pay back Trust me, staying out of debt is a good, good thing - I wish I could've - and mine isn't even that big |

ooh. I'm using all student loans for school too. I haven't gotten anything back yet telling me how much I'll get, but I know I'll be getting something. (Hopefully enough to go to school, because even though I've been working full time for a year and a half I still don't have any money left after bills, car payments, insurance, etc come into effect.)
I am not worried about the debt though. I've always been able to pay off my debts that I've had so far, and an education is important to me. It'll pay off after I finish. I think it's worth it. It's ONLY money. An education is much more valuable to me than money I think. -desiree |

The interest on student loans isn't as low as you guys would like to think. Especially if you're planning on taking forever to pay them off.
It takes people as long as 15-20 years to pay off their student loans, and by the time you end up paying them off, you'll have paid almost double what you borrowed in the first place--sometimes even more! Loans suck. My parents were dead set against me taking out a loan because they're extremely afraid of debt. I'm lucky that the program i'm in will give me the option of letting the government pay off/forgive my loans. I'd still be living at home and depending on my parents to pay for my schooling if it weren't for that. Debt sucks. |
