MTV Music Video Awards
Did any of you see this last night?!? -- Talk about a MASS production.
Did you see the opening act with Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina A?!? -- That was awesome when Madonna was kissing them and then the look on Justin Timberlakes face was priceless.

 -- I just liked the way the production was done... With Britney and Christina first coming out on stage singing Like a Virgin and then Madonna being elevated up all in black... looked kewl... Then they kissed and then that look on Justin's face was just gold...When Run DMC came on stage, I will really hoping they would lay it down but they didn't.

Britney's fluffy voice did well on Like a Virgin I really like that she and Christina were like Maonna's bitches - she's come a long way from her boy toy days that opening was the only reason I tunded in at all oh - and the beautiful Miss Knolwes.....other then that didn't pay much attention Did Johnny Cash win any for his version of Hurt? that video seriously brought tears to my eyes.....

That tells me that the music alone is not entertaining enough? plus, can't go wrong with sex. sex sells. can't go wrong with sex. just my opinion, i could be wrong.

obviously award shows are not really about the music like the Oscars are about fashion and the sideshow is the awards themselves Jimi hendrix lit guitars on fire - not to make them sound better .... Jancie Jopin gave him head on stage...that wasn't about music either You have to capture a crowd - and talent alone usually is not enough - PLAY to the AUDIENCE any performance class - you'll hear that -- spectacle--- people still go to concerts to sing along with their favorite performers and sometimes the reason that person is such a big draw to the public is beacuse they know how to perform I would never go to a GWAR show for the music but the spectacle - damn straight I would be there Madonna - came to town you cvan bet I'd be ther in a heartbeat, not only beacuse she knows how to work the stage but because i can sing along to every song last nights kiss ruled - and I think Britney was totally into it (who wouldn't be??) they gave a great performance and they provided spectacle and there ya have it

Still, the reason why i brought up jimmi was because he did something almost noone at his time could. I just don't see what is so special bout britney. is she the best singer? - not even close - to what i think.. is she the hottest? - not really.. with all that makeup~ does she look good in her dresses? - its hard not to look good. but still, thousands of models where i think are better looking. so whats so special 'bout her? or singers in her level? what i mean by all this is that pple like britney come as a package. just an icon. they have to contain all this shit to entertain pple. i don't see that as much talent either. whereas jimmi could just make the people go nuts by a piece of wook and 6-7 strings. fire or no fire. head or no head. as for madonna - she has a total different story. big ups. i make no sense, sorry.

Watch out for Christina...she's taking control in the pop queen world and that girl can sing People can get to the top with no talent - but they won't stay there long without it New Kids Backstreet Spice Girls they were all products created by managers and promoters - staying power is what defines an artist Annie Lennox madonna David Bowie You don't have to like their music , but they bring something to the table others don't - and they know how to work it - But that's not what award shows are about - they are about the clebration of what was popular that year and it's not talent that makes you popular anymore. Also, you can't tell me that playing the guitar while its burning, and making a sound SO NICE without a single note lacking is not talent. and the joplin story: i honestly haden't heard of that b4... so i don't kno what the story behind it was... overall, i rilli don't give a fuck to where this road is leading. i always have my classics. I heard Britney refused to kiss Madonna in some of the rehersals, but to surprise her she open mounthed Madonna and shocked her. Clever, but still Christina's kiss was where I'd wanna be. Although Brit's was hawter... oh well.
