temporary reading addiction...

i bought myself a new book the other day, and cracked it open yesterday... it's 400 pages long, and... i'm already halfway thru... i was kinda hoping this book would last me a couple weeks... but by the looks of it, i'm gonna be finished it in a couple days........ with most books, i usually only read about 20 - 30 pages a day, cuz i don't really have much time to read anymore, or i just don't feel like reading... maybe it's just this book... it's a really smooth, clean read for me cuz it's almost the same style i write in... odd enough as it is...

i'm guessing once i finish this book, i'll be off to the store to grab another book... which i really shouldn't be doing, cuz i'm running low on $$$... but ... I HAVE TO READ! and don't tell me to go to the library, cuz they never have what i'm looking for... not the libraries in surrey at least... i guess i could hit up the one at metrotown or downtown....... meh... i'd still rather OWN the book... and keep it on my shelf after i finish it, to remind myself that i actually did something productive for once in my life... hehe... whenever i finish a book, it gives me a sense of completion... something i've been lacking in my life for the past few years... always leaving things incomplete... i was so proud of myself when i finished reading my first book since high school... actually i never finished reading any books in high school... so... elementary school... FIRST BOOK I FINISHED IN LIKE 8 YEARS! i forget what book it was... but i've been reading for about a year straight now, and i'm feelin' damn good about it...

really? hmm... i guess i'll head down to the store and grab it then... although, i get kinda nervous grabbing that magazine, cuz i'm white, and last time i bought a copy, the sales clerk was giving me a weird look... almost a rude smirk... like i'm trying to be asian but i'll never be as good as the real thing... i kinda wanted to punch the guy actually, i was buying the magazine cuz it had a few good articles in it that i wanted to read, and there's a lot of cool pictures in it...

oh who cares... thanks for lettin' me know there's an article in there werdyboy... i'll pick it up tomorrow

i haven't read anything in over a week... i'm starting to go mental... now i know how smokers feel, hehe...

i don't wanna go out and buy another book cuz i really can't afford it, my visa is gonna be off the charts when i get the bill sometime this month... i just paid off $500 on it yesterday, so i think i should be a little closer to being financially secure for a little while... but considering i'm not working at the moment, i'm screwed...

it's kinda retarded spending $20 on a book, reading it in a couple of days, and having nothing to do until another $20 appears in my pocket... i usually just buy books so i have something to do when i can't find anything else to do, but lately i haven't had anything to do other than read... i'm such a loner...

my friend is such a prick!

he knows i've totally spent over my budget this month, so what does he do? we're walking around downtown, and we approach chapters... "dude, there's chapters... wanna go in?" ... "FUCK YOU MY VISA BILL IS ALMOST AT $800 FOR THIS MONTH" i say... "SO?" he says... "IT'S THE 8th TODAY!!!" i scream... so he gets all motivated, and sets a goal to get my visa up to $800... WTF!?! go for the gold or something? anyways... we go in to chapters, and i look around and grab a book... yes, another Murakami book... this one is a collection of short stories by him... i haven't cracked it open yet, i'll probably finish it tonite if i do...

HOPEFULLY i can make this book last me til the end of the month...

hmmm... well now i'm working for a company that sells used vintage books online... maybe i can just grab a book there, and read it on my lunch breaks and stuff... hehe...

same here:

I started reading The Two Towers this Friday night, and by Sunday afternoon I was half way finished. Which is totally opposit of the Fellowship of the Rings, which took me all summer to read. It was just so boring, my reading habits dropped, and I had "more important stuff to do". Anyway. Cheers to our readings. I'll be finished this book by Tuesday. And then start reading the 3rd book of the trilogy.

i think my addiction is cooling down... i've been reading the same book for the past 3 weeks... and it's only 300 pages long... i just passed the 1/2 way point...

then again, i haven't really had much time to read lately... and even if i have had time, i was too tired to read... also, this book isn't as great as others i've been reading by this author... well, it's still very well written, it's just not as upbeat. it's more of a love story...

oh jeez... this book is full of SMUT! the only time i read it is when i'm on the bus, and i get turned on by the description the author uses... i usually just end up laughing out loud and making an ass outta myself, but i get the occasional stiffy every page or 2... hehehe... *boioioioioioioioioioing*

i figure i mite as well try to make myself look a little sophisticated on the bus :) ...instead of reading japanese smut fiction all the time, and bursting out laughing all the time... hehe...

That's what I thought...

I bought 2 John Grisham books for my trip to England, hoping that they would last me the 2-3 weeks I was there.
I had never read any of his books but they looked good, they were about cases, and they are Long.
AS SOON as I got into them I COULD NOT put them down. I ended up finishing both in Less than a week.
I guess it was awesome that I had found two great books, but they didn't last!!
You should try reading some of his books, they are good :Kimmie:

i opened up 1 of grisham's novels about a year ago... forget what it was called, i was just reading it at chapters to pass some time... it was about a homeless guy who went into a law firm with a bomb strapped to himself, and bitched them out about not giving to the poor...it was interesting, but i can't get into those kinda books...

as bob dylan once said, "reading books by authors u've never heard of"... something like that...

i stay away from grisham, follet, king, etc.... i'm too "hardcore" for the masses, ahahaha...

nah, i just like to read modern easy reading kinda stuff, risque pop culture smut with a spunk... but i do have a taste for classics too...

"on the road" is so good...but it made me so sad in parts. actually the whole book made me sad...but in a good way. that's one of my favourite books actually. i highly recommend it.
oh, and anyone with a temporary reading addiction should definitely read "the sirens of titan" by kurt vonnegut jr...followed by "slaughterhouse 5" "player piano" "god bless you mr. rosewater" "welcome to the monkey house" "galopagos"... basically any vonnegut book EXCEPT "breakfast of champions"...definitely not his best work.
good luck to you!
