Good Art Schools
I'm doing some research on different art schools that I can apply to for the Fall 2004 semester right now. I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions? So far I'm planning on applying to Emily Carr and Ryerson, and I've requested brochures from the Rhode Island School of Design, Parsons, Pratt, Otis College of Art and Design, and the New York School of Visual Arts. Any suggestions at all are welcome...doesn't matter whether it's local, national, international.

ryerson (cuz it'd be off tha heezy if you went here with me)
PARSONS IN NEW YORK...fuck...best school ever actually the only thing better than Parsons in new york would be going to Parsons at their Paris location....i'm drooling right now. -s. |

^^
what are you applying to at ryerson brett? i'm going to probably apply to their image arts: new media program. just gotta start getting a portfolio together. sammy: that would be DOPE if we went to ryerson together! mmm, i checked out parsons and i'm already drooling from what i see. that would be so sweet to go to school over there. hey, question about portfolio submissions...how do you do the slides? like do you just take a picture of your work and get it developed into slides at london drugs? and also, if they ask for original work, that just means that you have to have a LOT more work done if you want to submit portfolios to several places right? ughhh, seems like so much work and it's so hard without any sense of guidance. wish i was still in highschool so i could take advantage of AP art. |

if you want to start out with a good base head over to capilano for the studio art program. its fricken killer.... my brother just finished it and now he's over at NASCAD (nova scotia school of art and design) to get his ba of fine arts then hes gonna get his masters there too.
i just started studio art... and so far its fuckin killer. teachers are amazing, and the class is nice and small. |

i guess it depends what area you want to go into.. theres a nova scotia school thats wicked (dont remember name) and obviously tons in teh states as well..each school kinda has its own strength in different fields. from what i know only emily carr and ryersons offer a degree in communication designs.
best of luck and OF COURSE...attend portfolio day to at least find out info about schools and recieve some critiques on ure portfolio. and there is always a chance to get on the spot acceptance..2 of my friends got accepted on portfolio day at emily carr. erica..just curious what kinds of art do you do? |

erica..when ure done ure work i can show you how to get slides done and everything.. i have pretty damn good experience in how to make them perfect.. i did about 5 sets of slides for my 3 portfolios this year. i have everything you need... i even think i have one roll of color slide film left!
remember to check the fine prints in how the school wants your portfolio..its always different and FOLLOW THE RULES. like i said.. im more than happy to help. i love preping portfolios. Last edited by bebu*funfun; Sep 10, 03 at 01:33 AM. |
