My Dad passed away when I was 15 and I was really close with him, so that's the significace. I wanted to get "père" in fancy writing across my lower back (because I'm 1/4 French from my Dad's side) but I thought the Japanese character would be nicer. For one, my Dad had a lot of close friends that were Japanese, and he was Buddhist. So yeah. It's not too big, about 3cm x 3cm...and I want it in all black. I'm also planning to get the outline of a red maple leaf on my inner right ankle, but we'll see. And I want some sort of subtle star thing somewhere as well. I don't know though. I don't want to go overboard because that will make my "Father" tattoo less meaningful and original.

Be original. Chinese character of names are so popular. How about a chinese word that describes you. Or possibly a Chinese Proverb. Dragons are over done to. Blah. How about a Phoenix. They never die. Atleast your asian. It's kinda off for someone who isn't asian to get an asian tattoo. That's just my opnion.

i totally agree with you tim......if your asian then get an asian tattoo but eh whateves!! if ppl want it then go ahead right?
trevor, you drew ur own dragon tattoo? cool i gotta see it! off topic but what car you getting? oh i'm thinkin of getting a tattoo also but not now, prob when i turn 18 i think.....another year!! hehehe but i dunno what to get? or where to get it.........any suggestions?! something small tho pls...

I don't think I could ever get a tattoo.. I mean your skin is such a delicate thing people.. a tattoo is PRACTICALLY forever..
no thanks, I would rather keep my skin as pure as it is now, but your ideas are sure great! hehe. :Kimmie:

my friend is designing it for me.. and his art is so neat because there's hidden dragons in all his pictures... they're sorta abstract, very original, and I love it!... my plan is not finalized... but I would like to get one on my center lowerback.. and there will be a sorta symbolistic crow [or raven... whichever..] incorporated into it.. [with the wings outstreched... I have an idea in my mind that would look really nice]~
-why a crow u ask?- well our family is the Crowe family... it wuz my mom's maiden name [I dunno.. fer sum reason our family is really proud of that and my mom has all sorts of crow things and like native raven things].... and also [the main reason]~ me and my friend had this thing with crows.. I guess it started in grade seven [inside joke.. now it's like our "symbol of friendship/unity" thing]... and since she passed away recently... having this tattoo will serve as a symbol that she's always there with me [sorta like galaxie with the "father" tattoo].... and allllso... birds... to me, I think they stand for putting ideas to flight, reaching your goals, living your dreams.... and that has significance to me [since my one lifelong dream, my parents are totally puttin a total damper on, so this way I'll never forget about that dream and not let them stand in the way] and I thought with the hidden dragons, they would remind me that there's always trials and struggles in life... but the greater the challenge, the greater the gift waiting for u... [like, they're always there, hiding frum u.. but when u figure them out they are really beautiful and add to make up the whole picture... (these challenges actually benefit u..)] haha.. I dunno, I have all these symbolistic meanings in the tattoo I'm plannin on gettin~ so, hopefully soon I'll get a design on paper.. and then, on raw flesh!!! hehe :) ~breezy
