Looking for photographer for hallowe'en/horror themed shoot(s)
I'm currently looking for a photographer and special effects make-up artist to collaborate on at least one, possibly a couple, hallowe'en and/or horror/gore photoshoots.
I'm thinking of doing some cute, simple, cheese-cake style witch shots hopefully in a studio or anywhere with a plain background. Then some more gory, bloody horror pics. Nothing nasty just some girlie horror pics with blood, vampires, knives etc :kam: I'll attach a sample or two, and if anyone's actually interested or knows someone who might be (you don't have to be a pro just have a camera and know how to use it basically.. I'll come up with all the scenerios and costumes etc) can pm me or email me @ [email protected]. (p.s. any top nudity will be implied, bottom will be covered up unlike sample) |

hey you look hawt there , I love a lady in red lipstick.
I'm basically looking for someone who knows how to work with fake blood, possibly make/find me some good fangs etc. I can do my own basic makeup, and I can probably work with the blood on my own if I have to but it would be nice to have someone around who already knows what theya re doing. It's not essential but it would be nice. |

Good idea, thanks Nat :)
You didn't go through with that Valerie? You should take the make-up course at Surrey college. It doesn't include the special effects but its like 1/4 of the price. That's what I'm taking starting at the end of october woohoo! |

hey, i'm no pro at all, but i know how to use a camera basically and i have background in art, so i'll have a sense of composition etc. i understand if you want someone with a bit more experience in photography, but i just wanted to let you know that i'm more than interested in working with you on this! it looks like a really awesome project.

no no! Erica thats just fine, hoesntly if you have talent and knowledge in art then you are further along than alot of the photographers working as pro's. An artistic and creative sense is probably the most important thing to me. So as long as you know hwo to use the thing, and the composition and lighting won't be all fucked up then that's just fine with me! Erica, i tried to email you back but my boy's comp is fucked up so I'm not sure if it sent. When are you available for this? I can't do anything right away, but I would like to get it done before or very close to halowe'en (but if thats impossible then it doesnt really matter.. I dont even have my website up yet grrr). I'll have to get back to you more about the details. I wish we had a studio we could work at!
Hmm.. or a cool tub. i need someone with a cool bathroom and a cool tub haha. I probably I should have mentioned I can't really pay anyone but I'm guessing you don't mind. For level one and two, plus all the registration costs etc. It's costing me $438, plus about 45 bucks for supplies in the first level and then about 100 in the next supposidly. And this years is all filled up, I'm pretty sure. They actually created a third class and luckily I was on the waiting list so I got in this year. But I think they mentioned that there was enough people to start a whole other class so I don't know if that means its full or there was just enough to make a class. |

nope, i'm cool with the no pay part of it, but i want to use one of the photos in my portfolio. my schedule is pretty flexible...only times that i'm busy on a weekly basis are tues/wed/and friday evenings.
as for a cool tub, i wonder if anybody has one of those tubs that stand on their own...? i think that would make the most wicked tub to take pictures in. you know what i'm talking about? hmmm, $438 for the entire course isn't bad at all, but i can't afford to spend THAT amount since i should be putting it towards courses that will be more related to what i'm intending to go into. thanks for the info though! |

Yeah well, I'm not planning on doing this as a career. However it's something I found interesting, could use to make some money while training for my career, and even utilize hand in hand with my career (which will be fashion design). I can do the make-up for my fashion shows and shoots etc. (even my own personal shoots) which is sure to be handy as well as financially helpful.

Whoah I totally missed your post there Erica, sorry hun haha.
Of course you can use any and as many pics you want for your portfolio. What kind of camera do you have? And I know what you are talking about because that is exactly what I had in mind. I'd love one of those old ceramic ones with clawed feet... But I will settle for just a regular white tub if we can't find a really nice solitary one. That reminds me WE NEED A BATHROOM TO SHOOT IN!?>!?! ANyone have a nice white bathroom we can mess up temporarily haha. |
|

i have a manual camera that i can use, but i'm planning on using the automatic. i don't have enough experience at all with manual cameras, so i think using the automatic will be much more successful.
mmm, yes, a ceramic bathtub with clawed feet would be SO perfect, but i don't know a single soul that has one. i DO however have two white ceramic bathtubs at home...the walls are tiled though, but if that is fine with you, we can do it at my place. the bathtub is small and the sliding doors might get in the way...the lighting is also not the best, so you might want to try and find an alternative. but if worst comes to worst, it can be done chez moi. what will you be using to create the blood effect? |
|
|||
Hmm.. so is the camera film or digital?? You may have answered that question already but I wouldn't know the difference haha.
Tiled in what colours? And yeah sliding doors might get in the way, I also preffer the absence of the tracks on the actual tub but oh well. I'll keep looking but if we can't find anything else That might work. This might sound wierd but is there any way you could show me a pic of it? If you can get one easily with a digicam or something? I just had an idea... I know that there are some nice fucking show houses out there with aaawesome bathrooms. I wonder if anyone selling a house like that would let us sneak in and take some pictures. Hhmm.. maybe I should go bathroom hunting in the nice houses for sale around here haha. Avana contacted me about doing the makeup, blood etc and she figured it out. She's getting a bag of concentrated "blood" to mix in with water and some other stuff for my skin etc. So thats all dealt with, we just have to find somewhere to shoot this shit!! |

Dang, i wish i had seen this post earlier.
While I dont have any super fance equipment, i do have a very nice, pro-grade camera, and a good imagination and sence of composition. I would really like to do some human camera work, damnit. Its all been wildlife, simple art stills, and random urban nuttyness. I use a Nikon F70 camera (film) with a 200mm Tamerion LD zoom lens, and i use it well. I would be more then happy to do any future shoots (no charge, of course), so I may brush up my skills. |

if only it was my house ...
jason's mom has one of those clawed footed bathtubs ... white with white floors, huge countertop {i think 14 ft long, big house} but it's not my house ... i wish it was, cuz HOW perfect would that be. sorry i just fantacised about it. |

I doubt people will let us into their showhouses and make an absolute mess in their bathrooms. lol.
The camera is film, but I also have a digi if you prefer that. However if you want to print these pics, quality from a film camera would be much better. If you're just using them for online usage, then digi is fine. But I *will* be taking pics with film even if you decide on digi cause I'll need a printed pic for my portfolio. Erm, the floor in my mom's bathroom is tiled this maroony colour, and the walls are tiled in this off white colour with thin maroon borders. The floor in my bathroom has really small off white tiles, and the wall is tiled white. But as I said, both have sliding doors. My digicam is pretty new and I'm not sure how to upload pics yet, so I can't show you pics right now. But I'll figure it out soon/you can come over and take a look for yourself if you wish. |
