question about printer:
I just printed out a picture on photo paper, (to get better results as opposed to plain paper). and OVERALL it looks SUPERB. I'd frame the damn thing if it weren't for the fact that ther were red lines horizontally going across a section of her head. (especially in the BLACK area) Does any one know why those red lines may have occured? It has nothing to do with the image, it has to do with my printer.. how can I eliminate this problem? Asides from this annoying line, everything else is PEERRRFFFFECCCCCTTTTTT :toasted: hubba hubba..
please enlighten me with your thoughts, thanking you very muchly. -computer un-savvy |

what you are getting in your printing is called an artifact.
It happens when the dithering (small little dots arranged in different pattens to create different colors) line up peculiarly weird on the printer causing a different effect. Actually, it probably is your image - try either printing your image at full size (dont scale) or use an image editing program like photoshop, fireworks, or a viewer converter to convert the size to the same size as you are printing- then print the resized document. If you are printing from a digital camera this is quite likely as digital camera images appear quite large on the screen and need to be scaled to fit the printer. You may try adjusting the print resolution (DPI) mode also, preferably up if there is any more room. |

if it's continuously doing this then head to london drugs or staples or something.
they can print it off for you at staples it's 76 cents for the picture, plus 20 cents for the paper (thats glossy photo paper, i would reccomend a 5 cent card stock), then 3.00 to open your file. |

yes im totally serious.
the photo paper can be nice, but it's only good depending on what kind of printer you're using. it's way cheaper just going to staples. london drugs does it too, but it's much more expensive. see if you can return the paper, if you've only used one page then tell them that and they may let you return it still...say you bought the wrong kind. or just don't tell them that you've already used a piece, it's not like they;re gonna sit there and count it. and also if you ever wanna buy just one or two pieces of paper...go to the copy centre and buy it from there, it's 20 cents as i've already said and then you can use it in your own printer!!! |
