maybe its just me.....i havent posted in a while and i feel like i've been gone for 10 yrs.....sorta feels like members are being forgotten......i mean yeah if u dont post ur gonna be "forgotten" in a sense......but its like no one is concerened or even cares.......how ddo we know that none of our old posters was in newyork?......iono maybe i'm just rambling on about this due to the shock of yesterdays incidences......and the whole karma thing? i mean snyx i agree with most of ur decisions but isnt this some sort of "rating/judging people"? i'm not even going to go there.....its been discussed too many times and people all have different opinions........now i am goin to stop.....

no, it's judging posts.

if you think my post is well thought out and very high quality, then you will give me positive karma.

if you think my post was just a shit flame with no actual value, then you can give negative karma.

after a while, it will be obvious who the shit flamers are, and who the people who are actually contributing to the board.

the key factor is the anonymous nature of the karma. since no one knows who gave whom what, people have no real reason to mod people up for the sake of popularity.

anyways... i peronsally think it will bring more positive things than good, since people who put effort into thier replies can be acknowledged anonymously by thier peers.

this is coming from the point of view of a "f+k outsider" (even tho I joined pretty early as well... I'm not really part of the original posting krew) I don't think this forum will really keep that tight family feeling since new members are bound to join (this is a public forum after all)... so I think people will be forgotten if they don't keep up with posting... people come and go.... altho I don't think they will be completely forgotten because people will think to themselves "I wonder what <enter name here> is up to these days..." but that sorta thing is normally kept off the boards, so it may seem like you've been forgotten, but in truth if you had made an impression, you will be remembered.... I think it's sad too... like if I were to get killed tomorrow, I wonder how many of you would actually care or even notice my absence.... whatever, it's the net, it's impersonal... why I try not to get too involved on these things...
