Hitting the slopes...

I BADLY want to hit the slopes this season, but the passes are more than I can possibly afford at this point (approx. $1600 for dual, and not THAT much cheaper for single).

Is there any way around this? Any sorts of discounts or specials that any of you know about? My friend told me about the Express pass, so I might end up doing that, but I'm hoping that you guys might have a few more suggestions.

If you want to hit Blackcomb for 6-10 times this year then the Gold Express pass is the best deal. You are prepaying for 5 days in advance but the breakdown per day is about $45 so it is quite the deal.

Each day after the 5 days you get 20% off the lift ticket price... but you would be better off buying 2 Gold Express cards.

If you really want to ski for free then learn to wake up early and hike. They only scan your ticket at the gondolas so if you can hike to the Exelerator quad chair you can ride for free.

Whistler sucks unless they got a dump of fresh pow.

Whistler is better for skiers.

Blackcomb is better for snowboarders due to the continuous pitch of the mountain as less flats.

Hell yeah, the bowls are so sick.

As for a cheap pass you get one through SFU or UBC. The only catch is you need to be a student... so just be creative if you're not.

Blackcomb makes me sleepy, after I got a pass for Whistler, I never really skiied there again. Whistler is just soooo much more fun.

Exactly, the flat ski-out roads between the bowls on whistler reek havoc on boarders. Luckily im always with a couple skiers when ive been in that situation so i can be towed if i get stuck, heh.

Moral of the story is if your going riding on whistler u better be dammed sure to have a huge layer of slick wax on that board or your goign to get stuck.

Blackomb is def the way to go for boaders.

This was a few years ago when I lived there. I moved away in 97.

Why is it that the Chateau Whistler keeps calling me every year about this time offering me a Chef de Partis position?
