scene state.
(aprés ghettoblaster post)
the scene has changed drastically, people are younger, seemingly wear less and apprarently grinding is an acceptable form of dancing, oh lest not forget circle dancing, i <3 circle dancing. a few familiar faces lingering around, still i had fun, not comparible to the fun of the old times (god has it been 5 years already?) but still got to dance, i guess im dissapointed in that sense, stupid leg kept cramping up, i wish dancing would evolve but it seemingly hasnt; the mentality has remained the same in the sence there is the same enthsiam as to when the next rave will be and how much drugs i did tonight, glad i was sober, my body's getting to old for this but im glad my mind isnt. meh oh well once every 6 months seems about right as compared to the twice a weekend adventures we had; for the time being ill stick to the usual. /random thoughts |

tux: people are getting younger; i guess that the current trend
miss.myra: no, i'm not kent, nor would i ever want to be starberry: not necessarily getting older but simply maturing stringbeans: like yourself? *laugh*, what is there to grow to if i'm happy just as i am |
|

stringbeans: im happy (with who i am) but not happy with the direction the scene has shifted to; fine, call me a cynic with a silver lining
dale: let me clarify, i merely stated it changed (as it should have) but i disliked the state it has transformed into |

^ no shit, complain about the age of people all you want but leave the booty shorts out of this! I'm not entirely sure that that ghettoblaster was a good representation of the scene anyway since the music that was played was a fair bit different than what you hear on a regular basis. Props to Dave for changing shit up.

how is more younger girls in booty shorts going to raves a bad thing ?.. and dont over do it ...i think the youngest person there was 15 ..no way in hell was there anyone there was 13 ...only on some rare occasions. Majority is 16-20 .. |

inkster: valid point but still i expected more, i guess a tad too much
leviathan: no qualms with the music, solely the crowd technique: maybe they'll learn when they grow up and realise something called self-repect; but if that's your cup of tea, kudos to you |

Things are gonna change and it's ultimately inevitable.... 4 or 5 yrs ago there were still people who were too young to be at parties. You can't really say its all based on a changing 'scene' so much as it is just a changing 'youth culture'.
Booty shorts etc... are acceptable forms of being sexy among 16 - 20 y/o girls in plenty of groups... so they've crossed over into the rave scene... whoop- dee -doo. Besides, does everyone who goes to a rave have to fit a certain stereotype? Candy-kid, barstar, junglist, newbie, old-skool, bitter, tekker, whore.... the list could go on forever. People go to parties to let loose, enjoy music, meet people...not hate on them because they don't fit in with the memories you have of 5yrs ago. Don't get me wrong, my memories of back then are just as fond as yours are, but things are different and I'm ok with that.... why let it ruin your fun? |

^ Yes I agree. I always hear or see people talk about this. I believe things have not change but evolved. Anything in nature evolves to a different state over a period of time. This is what attracts different wild life to that area and does not work for others and they have to move on. I am not saying I always agree with what is going on in the scene but we have to evolve to the nest state if we are to continue.

i had fun (as stated in my original post)
rawb: doubledown? (if not, my mistake) technokid: i have the right to my own opinion shawn: to each their own, booty shorts on a 16 year old is not to my liking; i dont think anyones memories can compare to their original ones of partying considering their optimistic naivety at that time; i knew you back in the heyday =P, and let me reiterate that i still had fun on sat...=) native1: evolution is natural; however regression is detrimental Last edited by f1ktion; Nov 18, 03 at 01:05 AM. |

you guys are bothered by 'circle dancing?' they're just people who want to stay in contact with all the peoel they came with. it was done in highschool, and was totally acceptable. it happens in clubs, and no one ever raises the topic. why is it bothering you?
I've been around for a while now, i actually don't see a change in age at all. still a good amount of grade 11's and 12's (they just LOOK younger because we're getting older). i think the scene is slowly re-growing (and thank god for it), and parties are evolving. you see tho, people who are entering the scene NOW, will be saying the same stuff we were saying 2 years ago, later. figure it out. it's cyclical. nothign's really changing. just the promoter's and people. be accepting guys. rave on ;=) lol |

Ever since I've been in the scene people having been saying that the ages have been getting younger and younger when in fact the oposite is true The median age of a party is about 18. Less than 5% at any rave are under the age of 16 and about 50% are 18 and older There are still youngins but since the average price of a party has risen from $10 to $25.00 to $35 to $75.00. Kids simply can't afford to go every weekend and older peeps can |
