Living Lies:
I didn't write this poem with vocabulary or structure in mind, I just wanted to get my thoughts out and the rhyme scheme seemed to work so I went along.
Living Lies: Take a drag Hold my hand Approach with me this other land bite your lip, flash a smile make them think it's all worth while have a drink, rail a line mask the world for a short time pearly teeth, cheap perfume clouds of smoke consume the room engage in talk, flip your hair act as though you really care call a cab arrive home once again you're all alone take your pills, wipe the tears forget your soul has disappeared drift away close your eyes mask your life and all it's lies; |
