Ok - my cell phone contract is coming to and end - as is my sister's.

Looking for a new plan - wondering what you have and how the reception is up on the mountain?!

What company are you with?
How's reception?

telus.. pretty shitty
outside and above the second floor of the AQ is ok.. but still tends to cut out

fucking mountain!!!

im with telus, and it really depends how my phone is feeling. Sometimes it works sometimes not so much.

whatever you do, don't get Rogers... it's shitty as hell. I paid $48 a month and it would never have service at SFU. in fact, I'd have to use the payphone while I had a cellphone in my fucking hand...

I've heard Fido has pretty good reception up there though..

IT WORKS but regardless of what phone you have, once you go into the building, good luck. Seriously. HUNKA-CEMENT-BUILDING is no good for cellphone reception. If you wanna make a phone call you gotta go outside.

oh, it's a superold school Nokia 6160 series...

well, if they're putting up a tower, then I guess the reception won't be a problem..

im not a student up there but ive gone up quite a few times this past week and ive got perfect reception up there.. im with rogers

I use telus and I don't get reception in quite a few of the lecture halls...it's pretty good outside though.

Bell....I get reception for the most part in the normal known reception places. 5th and 6th floor of the AQ, outside of the AQ, library 4th floor and up, and outside the library. Not too much in WMX though.

fido works pretty well up the hill..
there still are spots where you wont get any reception
but i havent had that much of a problem :)

My (ex)cell phone (Samsung a520) is with Telus and I got 1 bar of reception. From what I've gotten from friends cell reception is very poor up @ Sfu.

There are the rare occasions that a cell phone will get clear reception, but it will eventually cut out or very choppy.
