I use lithium polymer batteries like that for my RC helicopter. Same form factor and same capacity made by Kokam. I was able to get two cells for $36 US shipped.
The fact is a lithium ion/ polymer should last longer than 18 months. A sample set of one in that movie does little to convince me of anything. If that movie had a hundred or so ipods that were dead then I would be concerned. I woudn't be suprised if apple is a six sigma company, but who knows. Quote:

I grabbed one of these e-Digital Treo 15Gb units for $160US and it works great.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=11024 Sure it isn't as pretty as an iPod but the storage can be upgraded by formatting a new 2.5" HD using FAT16 and replacing the 15Gb unit inside. Battery lasts for 9 hour continuous and you can buy a new battery from e-Digital for $20 The Odessey 1000 they have for sale is pretty sleek http://www.edigital.com/odyssey1000.php but I dunno if the looks and USB 2.0 warrant the extra cash. |
