no, no, just my last name.
I figure it's a part of my identity that I will one day lose (when I get married and take on my husband's name) so I think that it should always be a part of me. heh, I was thinking about getting on my shoulder, but I think for my first tattoo, I'd rather have it in a more discrete part (i.e. MY BUTT :P) so, when are you getting it? --Joanne :P Last edited by Joanne; Dec 05, 03 at 03:07 PM. |

It's not about a 'good tattoo artist', it's about finding an artist that actually knows how to compose characters. If characters are not composed in the proper stroke order they are meaningless! An artist at a tattoo shop may do a real nice job of copying/tracing something from flash or a dictionary, but it is still meaningless!
I really don't think I know of any tattoo artists that can actually write chinese/japanese characters in this city... |

I've seen way too many people with asian tattoo characters on their bodies that clearly look like it was done by an artist who knew absolute ziltch about writing chinese characters. that is exactly what I want to avoid, which is why I'd prefer a tattoo artist who either specializes in or knows a thing or two about chinese calligraphy, or at least speaks and writes in the chinese language. --Joanne :P |
