Nicking out any suggestions???
ahhhh i need a smoke...im trying to quit (not very hard tho :kimmie: ) but i have no smokes right now and i need one ..im the type of person that can quit things really easily...really like nothing but this is brutal...what to do what to do...plz help...if u can!! :284:

im tryin this "not carryin a lighter" deal right now.. i was too shy on robson yesterday to ask for a light.. so i didn't end up having a smoke all day. WHY DO I STILL BUY SMOKES!?
first step was to cross to lights...then not bring a lighter..and sooner or later i will not have smokes?... eekz |

be strong and quit cold turkey. in montreal, i was up to a pack and a half a day at one point, and then i got to the point where i was so sick of it and just said FUCK IT...THIS IS IT! quit cold turkey...kept a pack on my desk where i sat all day in my rez room and didn't touch a single one. held onto that willpower for a month. whenever i was out with friends and they were smoking (EVERYONE smokes in montreal, and it makes it even harder that there's no such thing as no-smoking establishments), i didn't feel compelled at all to ask them to bum a cig or to even get a drag. after a month, i felt ready to throw the pack out and that was it. i went through another cycle when i got back to van, but got sick of it and quit cold turkey again. hopefully that will be the last time. but yeah, no excuses.
things that help...food, but if you don't want to pack on the pounds from quitting, what i did was drink coffee. helps you out with a bit of the withdrawl, esp when your head feels like it's caving in. lots of water, chewing gum, keeping busy. staying in environments where you're less prone to smoke or can't smoke. not having a pack on you or near you at any time. telling your friends that you're quitting smoking and to not bum you any smokes so that when you do ask them, they hopefully won't give them to you. running...or any form of exercise is key. regular exercising will kinda kick you into that health mode, and after a while, you won't even want to put that shit in your body. i find whenever i exercise, i eat and think a lot more healthily. good luck. :) |

the way ive been doing it, is just not buying them, and spending so much time at home. if i dont go out, i wont want to , and because i have to smoke outside, i rather not, because its really cold out and i dont enjoy smoking while shivering.
after a few days of hibernating in your house, when you go out you wont think of it much, and because you are on your way to being quit, you dont really want to be fucking up. good luck. |
