firearms
hey people, who has a piece? im picking up my first real soon as my paycheck comes next week, im starting off with a .45 ACP pistol like dis
 then i hope to get into something a bit bigger such as a long barrel rifle mabey even get a hunting licence who knows what the future brings

Im pretty sure your kidding, I dont think you can even legaly buy a handgun like that without a million permits .. I never would want a hand gun, but woudnt mind a nice rifle just for taking to the range for target practice ..that actualy can be a lot of fun. If you owned a gun i would be kind of scared no offense.

k i think some of u got the wrong idea its not for me to carry around in the back of my pants for when situations get out of hand, its strictly for range use, and possibly when im drinking in my backyard, the gun WILL be registered and im in the process of getting my firearms barror licence. i said a "piece" cuz that made me laugh.

you need a transport permit and a range membership too if i remember rightly... If you intend to take it to any ranges that you don't have a membership to, (for competitions) you also need to get transport permits to that range. Owning a handgun is a pretty complicated matter if you want to be legal about it, <edit> if it's got an 18" or shorter barrel and a muzzle velocity of over 750 fps, it's a handgun and it's restricted</edit>
getting a rifle is pretty easy tho, you need an FAC and that's it. Rifles are a lot more fun IMO, so much more accurate than handguns... (i can put a hole in a popcan at 1000yds with my remy .22-250, and i own a few rifles. i've never shot an animal tho, don't intend to) Last edited by greenwire; Dec 11, 03 at 04:46 AM.

any firearm was designed to kill people, that doesn't mean they have to be used for that purpose to be fun. that also doesn't mean that marksmanship and other sports that involve the use of firearms aren't valid. what about olympic trapshooting or the biathalon?
cars were designed for transportation, yet people with cars kill far more often than people with guns, go figure. kelly: are you taking the CORE program or are you getting your FAC?

I agree, there is no excuse for having a hand gun in Vancouver.
I do own a rifle though. It's an engraved Winchester .243 with a 6X Leupold scope.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people. But ya, getting a license and going to gun clubs and shooting. Nothing wrong with that IMO.
