Right on, America!
http://www.canada.com/national/story...0-BF1FA49CAE39
A group of Canadian climbers celebrate their ascent of Mount Logan by waving the Canadian flag. While such achievements warrant national pride, Americans express irritation at the habit of Canadians using the flag while travelling to express nationality |

"That way, they differentiate themselves from us." some yankee says. I say damn rights. We are not American. Europeans love Canadians, so why not flaunt where we are from? Canadians are proud not to be world bullies, so why not wear a Canadian flag? Stupid, ignorent yankee's never fail to suprise me.

an American from San Diego is quoted saying: "What bugs me about Canadians, if I may, is that they wear that damn patch on their bags, the Canadian flag patch. That way, they differentiate themselves from us."--this makes me wonder, would they be upset if they were confused as canadian? i think so, its where we are from, americans being great patriots should understand that we are proud of where we are from.

Hmmm perhaps we dont want to be mistaken for americans... nahh why would we want to differentiated from a country filled with gun toting red necks who seem to have a pass time of starting wars.(understandibly not all americans are assholes, just enough that Bush got elected).
PS- Yankee beer sucks |

Thats a bias report
Yes there's a bunch of dumb Americans that feel that way but for the most part they love us WHen I threw Hyper in Seattle everyone went on the message board with 100's of replies saying stuff like VANCOUVER CONQUERS SEATTLE!!!!! I LOVE CANADIANS THANK YOU CANADA FOR THROWING A SICK PARTY AND BRING LIFE TO OUR SCENE!!! I've never met anyone in the states who had anything bad to say about us |
|

damn these people are hypocrites. every chance they get americans are seen waving their flag just about anywhere they can, and they get pissed off when they see people from another country doing the same as them? (but on a lesser scale, americans are way more patriotic in this way than any other country). how idiotic is that.

you realize that you are taking the opinon af a few select americans and using that as a basis to formulate an opinion about how dumb and ignorant they are?
Maybe you should talk to some of them, I havn't met one yet that had anything negative to say about us Canadians |

That has to be one of the dumbest and most ignorant things I think I've ever seen anyone post. I travel down south alot, ie 2 - 3 months out of the year. As far as New York, Georgia and as close as Washington and everyone I've ever talked to has never had anything bad to say about Canada.
Bashing the US is getting old. I also know quite a few Europeans who get really annoyed at Canadian patriotism when Candians go to their country. Bashing the U.S. is an old and tired subject. Just remember though that we have just a few economic ties with them. I think you should sit down and concentrate on the problems in your own country( yeah we aren't perfect) instead of worrying about them. Quote:

^ it's our players being used to win the cup.. so in a sense we win da hockey
When man landed on the moon a flag was stuck into it's porous moon rock - that flag wasn't covered in the beautifully ackward Esperanto - no it was the American flag When troops drove 'victorious' into Kuait it was not the flags of any other nations that drove in with them - it was the good ol' stars and stripes they are proud to be American and we are only recently finding our own patriotic voice too perhaps that means somewhere down the road the international community will view us in the same way and we will join the states and become a super conglomerate set on world domination...who knows? Anyway - so a few peeps are ticked about our flag waving - big deal, they make fun of us on t.v and that pisses us off ...like any sibing relationship we have our quarrells and our rivalries - but we still have to live under the same roof. |

shorerider: Well they won the last Olympics for both mens' and womens' teams , a famous international hockey tournament is coined the Canada Cup, many players that end up being big time stars come from Canada and get drafted to American teams so asking when the last time a Canadian team won the cup (I assume you are reffering to Stanley) is hardly a viable point of reference. Need I go on?

OK I worked all over the US for about 5 years and I can tell you that the majority of Americans like canadians. They find us funny and more easy going than most americans. So any american commenting like that has got to be the must ignorant. 2nd of all any american that would ever give me crap about sporting a canadian flag will get a slap. Everyone world wide knows that the americans are in many cases overly patriotic so damn you if I want to show a little patriotizim for our great country. Why is that americans where canadian flags when travelling? Oh thats right! Anyways the majority of Americans are nice peps but some are the most ignorant people you could ever meet and I mean ignorant. I think the biggest problem is that americans in general give off a sense of they are better than everyone else. If you work in the us long enough you will encounter this at some point. I did recieve some flack when a few americans didn't like the fact that they had hired a canadian to come in and put them all in order but my good looks and great sense of humor got me by yet again.
Psssssstttttt Akeel isn't in the taliban? G |

The pother article well. The majority of what that article is saying is well.......true! It does exagerate a little but what else is new with the media. Generally i think we are taxed too much which does make it hard. BC by far we are the hardest hit out of any area in canada.
