Vancouver has been granted all night clubbing license

That is fucking awesome.The last couple of months have been extremely tough for established production companies in the city and i've seen alot of promotors decide to quit promoting.This proves i was right and that the rave scene(Ever wonder why london doesn't have raves anymore) is losing momentum and giving way to the superclub phenomenom that has hit the rest of the world.If you wish to discuss this topic any further feel free to icq me at 73901395

Well fuck! It's about bloody time!
It's official! The beautiful city of Vancouver (my home), was granted two licenses in the past week. All caberets (pubs/bars) are allowed to remain open till 4am (previous time was 2am) for any caberet owner that applies for the license.

And...over the course of the next year, all night clubs in DownTown Vancouver will be allowed to remain open till 7am, again...this is only for the owners who apply for the license. The ruling is a trial basis where club owners can open their doors from 9pm to 7am on selected nights during the year. If all goes well, the club owners should be allowed to do this every Friday and Saturday night.

I can't wait for it!

But I'd like to know how everyone else feels on the subject? Your opinions count! It's worked remarkebly well for cities all across Europe, and some of the major metropolitan areas like New York, Toronto, Montreal, and Miami...but would every city benifit from an opportunity like this, and what type of impact (if any)would it have on the underground scene?

london doesn't have raves anymore because of some incident where a girl died of a drug overdose and then they banned them

im pretty shure that's rite cuz i read it in mixmag (july issue had a lil snippet about)

uhh... weren't raves banned for a while, so they went underground, then the cops didn't like that shit so they allowed all nite clubs, and those pretty much turned into the same thing as raves, so they just said fuck it and let ppl party, then they banned them again, and now it's underground but they still have all nite clubs?

i've heard 3 different stories from ppl... so this is how i'm gathering things are going over there...

mixmag should never come in contact with human skin. if you accidently walk into a room which contains mixmag, first puff up your chest to show you are not afraid of it. calmly back out of the room, downplaying your love for electronic music. if you make a sudden move or otherwise startle mixmag it may attack with a sasha + digweed article, or worse, an expose on the best clubs in ibiza.

if you find one of your friends in a situation where they are reading or otherwise browsing a mixmag, you must remember that they may already be under its influence. casually get them talking about the latest artful dodger album, and use a long blunt instrument (such as a 2x4 or aluminum baseball bat) to beat the mixmag out of thier grasp. when the mixmag has been sucessfully detained, put your friend in the recovery position, keeping thier arms away from 'e-bombs', 'mitsubishis' and evian water.

when he has stopped babbling about the drum and bass scene in brazil and how he really wants to go to the love parade, it's safe to slap him in the face and call him a fucktard.
