need info on snowboards...

ok, so im a beginner and im getting a great deal on a brand new board from a friend.. only thing is i dont know if its the right height or not?

when i stand it up infront of me its about 2cm below my chin.. is this too short?

ive been told that since im a beginner its a good idea to get a board which is a little shorter.. is this a good height?

Dean is an unknown quantity at this point
thats about right... for a beginer shorter makes it easier.. you might want to get into a bigger one later on but as long as your not paying like alot of money for that one it should do the trick until you get better and need a new one

Sounds fine but as with anything do a bit of home work and shop around to see if it's really a good deal. What company makes the board, bindings and so on?

Other than that have fun on the hill!

the board is an oxygen system 055 and umm... the bindings say 02 so i guess they're made by oxygen too hehe..

anyways, i think the height should be ok, but im not sure about the width now

when i stand straight on the board without boots on my feet come flush with the edges of the board perfectly... so that means that when i have boots on they'll overhang a little.. do you think this is a big deal?

thanks!

I wouldn't worry about a little toe hang, but based on that information I'm not sure if you really want that board. What I'd suggest is checking Sports Junkies and Cheap Skates for a good comparison. How much is the asking price anyway?
