It's pretty easy when you're vegetarian to give up fast food...once I gave up mcdick's, etc. for lent when I was a teenager and it seemed to work really well. heh.
the only real fast food item I can't resist is a Wendy's salad...mmm.. but yeah, things like sushi are good because you can get it fast and it's fairly inexpensive..and it's ok for you to boot, I'd have edamame over fries any day. Pho/congee is good too because you can get it fast and cheap too. Things like wraps/falafels/donairs/pitas are also good. |

^^ I wouldn't really consider Subway 'fast food' in the way that most people think of fast food.......when I hear fast food I think, ew gross, fatty, grease-ridden grossness!
Personally, I don't eat fast food generally because I'm a vegetarian and there's not exactly a wide selection of appetizing vegetarian fast food items. Burger King has a good veggie burger, but other than that, pretty much no where else is any good. I do work in a mall, so most days I have the option of fast food place after fast food place, but I've taken to eating Greek salads, steamed white rice w/sweet and sour sauce, sushi, salad rolls, and veggie sandwiches. It's kind of crummy though, all of the good food in a mall food court costs twice as much as the crap food! Myra, I'm all about the edamame...yum yum...and agadashi tofu *drool* Isn't most Pho made with a beef or chicken broth, though? |

I almost NEVER eat fast food, period. Once you avoid it, it's really not that hard to find easy, fast, cheap alternatives.
Sushi, bagels, soup & sandwiches, wraps, pitas, donairs, etc. There's a SEA of alternatives that are healthy and don't taste like cardboard. |

I can honestly say ive gon with out fast food/mcdicks from 6 months to over a year at a time.
Erica your right, after you stop going its realy easy to just say no and avoid over priced prccessed fried non nutritious "food". And I find when you try it again you can realy tased the greace and msg more and more ewww. I wont even get into the whole economic debate mc dicks has with advertisign and low payed employees. that a fair enough answer ken? |

btw of corse fast food is addicting. Its like white bread, youll never be able to stop eating it unlike whole meal/brown. Not because "it tased soo good", it a certain kind of sugar put in food that IS ADDICTING.
Scientist are coming up with a kind of powder to sprinkle on your food that pretty much decodes this addictive sugar so it will help ppl stop eating wthen they need too instead of making them crave more after there full. :cake: |

Every fucking time I go to McDonald's (twice a year maybe) I violently regret it. It makes me seriously fuckin ill. And everytime I say I'm never eating there again, and then it'll be late one night and I'm hungry and its on the way home and I will get some. And then I regret it all over again.
But you know, other fast food doesn't make me feel like that. I like A&W sometimes, and maybe Wendy's...and that's about it. They don't make me want to projectile vomit everywhere. I eat pretty healthy in my day-to-day life so I'm not going to worry about a teen burger on a drunken Saturday night every now and then. Everything in moderation, right? |
