Fitness Unlimited...fat people unite.
Picked myself up a membership at the langley location just the other week. Damn! Deffinitley one of the biggest/best overall gyms i've ever stepped foot in.
A whole room dedicated to cardio, a room for hammerstrength, and another for assorted machines and free weights. some other highlights: a basketball court an indoor track 2 squash/racketball courts his/her steam rooms (they actually get hot!!) a ladies only section great customer service signup for free yoga classes free personal training info and so much more. deffinitely worth the $50/month + joining fee. :) |

^haha definately. I'm not fat, but I enjoy being fit.
I use the fitness equipment at SFU since I'm a student and I'm already paying recreation fee as part of tuition anyways.. we have access to pretty much everything you listed... about 50$ per semester.. but no one checks id tags anyway so you could get away with using our equipment without paying. The only downer is that the gym is ALWAYS packed and it's co-ed, so I think many of the girls feel kind of intimidated to go to the "weight-lifting" side... which is dominated by guys.. I've been sayin this for years, but I need to start weight-training soon. :P I <3 cardio. |

^i love cardio too! The key is the treadmill, it got rid of the baby fat on my tummy and the stairmaster works your butt/thighs real good.
i do some weights too to tone up my arms and i'm so happy my gym has a ladies only section because i get so intimidated when their are a bunch of huge guys around me. |

^ Well - many a retired party kid drinks beer, instead of doin; teh druggies and many a retired party kid no longer has a swift teen metabolism
So gym it is besides unless you are doing methanphetamines on a regular basis it's likely not the drugs keeping you trim. |

some day I'm gonna get some guts and be the lil asian midget girl that can lift more weights than any other muscle-boy's ass. I'll SHOW THEM! Aki, you know what else KICKS ASS? The elliptical trainer. I've been using that thing for years now... a few years of cardio have helped with overall fat loss. Awesome workout. I agree with you on the stairmaster, it definately feels like more of a workout than the elliptical, but I find that the efx trainers are much more comfortable to work out on... |

motivation:
becoming un-uber set yourself a goal, whether it be to just get that nice firm ass, tone your arms or just for the sake of living a healthier lifestyle, remember, one day at a time. tell yourself " i'll go 2x a week" , follow through on that commitment, even if it's just for 30 min of cardio or oggling hot people. after a month or so you'll probably notice minute differences, in most cases something positive. You'll feel better physically, you'll feel better mentally. How good do you figure it would feel after 3 days a week? follow through on that commitment. and before you know it, you have a routine. it'll become habbit going to the gym. some gyms have a ladies only section if you're more into that. don't be afraid to ask questions. Generally most people are pretty darn friendly. :) |
