Where is a good, inexpensive place to register a domain name?

I used easyhosting.com before but I am sure there has to be better and less expensive places around now.

Anyone have good places they recommend?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Found a cheap one.

http://www.voxdomains.com/

$7.75US/yr for a 10yr registration. That is like $10 a year! :y:

Nice... even better... kind of strange though that you only save 10 cents a year by going for 10 years instead of less -- doesn't make it much more attractive.

Save the $1 over 10 years isn't a big deal.

I used to be with www.look.ca and they want $89.95 for 5 years so this is a no brainer.

Thanks, I was just going to ask the same question.

Now, do they have instructions etc on how to get your domain hosted and your website up because I have NO clue what I'm doing.

My bro-in-law uses http://www.mydomain.com/index.php for redirection and stuff to his website on Telus.

thanks.

Fuck, I need something temporary but quick. Do you know if You can host a domain name you bought on something like the telus sight you get with your internet service?

its just that I'm working at a convention this weekend, handing out business cards and I would like people to have a website to go to when they type in my domain name.. This is a big promo chance for me, and I have my website ready. Its just way too confusing for me right now to do it within a day or two, plus I can't afford it (100 bux for a year?? ouch)

You transfer the domain name you have to mydomain.com for free, sign up for a user account to manage your domain (free) and then do a masked redirect of your url to your website at TelASS (ww3.telus.com/????) and VOILA you are done.

Or do you have a website designed but nowhere to have it hosted?

By the way, it takes 24-72 hours for your domain name to propagate to other domain name servers after you register it and set up the name servers. That may or may not make sense to you, but basically means that if you need it this weekend, you should probably do it today.

Just ask if you have any questions on setting it up.

And actually mydomain.com says:

"Transfers will take between 5 and 7 days under normal circumstances to complete. If the losing registrar refuses to acknowledge a transfer request for any reason, the transfer may take longer to complete."

But they might just be covering their ass in case it takes that long for some reason.
