i use a 3rd party client, gaim, and it told me what to expect and went offline about 10 minutes after. so, if you use a 3rd party client and you didn't get a notice about there being maintenance, it's likely because that 3rd party client doesn't support notices from the server. either that or the maintenance simply didn't affect your passport.

Holy fuck, I installed the new MSN on my computer and since I installed it it has NEVER fucking worked for me. It pops up with this standard message saying that my e-mail or password is invalid (when infact it is not, i sign into my e-mail using it..)

So I've e-mailed their support and not recieved a response, I've uninstalled and reinstalled it several times, changed my password, even created entirely new e-mail accounts, cleared the cache, etc. Nothing fucking works. It's really annoying, so i've had to settle for the shitty java client ever since. :(

It wouldn't be so annoying if it wasn't such a nonsensical error.

ask eric to get into WebUserEdit and see if he can see anything that's up. before that though, try going to passport.net, logging in, changing something trivial, then changing it back. for some reason that fixes most passport issues.

I asked eric once and all he advised me to do is change my password...i hate to pester him about work stuff when he is not there.. :p

...changing something trivial? like my...password? I've done that three times.

also, can you get into msn from other computers? if so, it's likely something to do with your box. if the old msn worked, might be just easiest to find a copy of that version, and install instead.

Yeah, i can sign on Esi's computer's MSN, i can sign onto MSN2GO even on my home computer, but it's soooo shit.

I was thinking about going that route to install an older version, but the msn website only offers its new shiny version.
