Paint Job On Bumper

I hit a parked car last Tuesday and the driver was in the car. We both have decided to settle it privatly. He took it to a New Westminster Colision and the estimate that I was given from him was $300.

Is this price right? Does anyone know any place in New Westminister that can offer a better price? His car is about 10 years old and he's afraid of the scratch getting rusted. I'm meeting him at the shop Wednesday and if you have any opnions give me a shout asap. The scratch is less than 5 inches across.

yeah thats about right... i just got rearended and the icbc estimate was $409 and that involved painting it and like sanding and stuff.. it was exactly the size of a licence plate and only on the bumper... so sounds about right

take the deal. cuz it's a $300 deductible anyways.

btw: bumpers don't rust. it's plastic. unless it's a truck or something...

The cheapest you'll probably find is $200 for a bumper respray. So that's not too bad, though not a hot deal either. I deal with First Class Autobody in Pt Moody, probably a bit out of the way for you. You could try somewhere like Kirmac too, they might be cheaper.

Hope it works out Tim!

ended up being $140+tax cuz it was only a 6inch scratch. Since it was below the center they didn't need to remove the bumper and realign it later. This would have shot the price to $500+.

The owner was surprised that he even decided to bring in the car. It's over and done with. I've paid for it and he will bring it on his own time 2 get it fixed.
