forget spending a bunch of "extra cash." You can have a perfectly girlfriend-melting valentines sans fancy dinner and expensive presents. Get some flowers, grab your sleeping bag and some candels, a bottle of wine, prepare a picnic and some desert (you could grab something from Death by Chocolate or something if you can't cook), and rock down to a not-too busy area of the beach (or a nice park with a nice view). Bring a small CD player.
Light candels, start music, drink wine, be in love. Should cost under $40. |

ohhhh if you do the hotel thing there are two hotels that are doing the v-day special. They offer chocolate dip strawberrys and champain. Some have a hot tub with a nice view and breakfast in bed and late check out like 4 pm.
lol i wanted to do that but its a bit of cash. But still its a nice thing to do if you don't mind paying a little extra. |

Hot air balloon ride?? That's what I would love to do but I don't know how much it is!! :kimmie:
Hotel room is a good one if you don't usually have a lot of alone time together, so you're away from the world :) but again that can get quite pricey Me and my valentine are trying to figure out what to do on v-day also, so keep the ideas comin!! |

last year me and my ex made fondue...cheese fondue and oil fondue for dinner with a nice bottle of wine. Candles were lit all over the place...very romantic :)
we had chocolate fondue for dessert with strawberries...now imagine what comes after that? guarenteed a fantastic evening if you do this for your girlfriend. |

make her dinner - it's definitely too late to get a reservation at any really nice restaurant in the vancouver area
Kandyapple - all the hotels with jacuzzi tubs in the van area are booked - my man and I called EVERY SINGLE ONE and we got the last room.....it's definitely not the hotel that we WANTED to go to, but it doesn't really matter because we'll be together, in a nice warm tub =) |

^ yeah! so dumb
lots of hotels are offering the Valentine's package, they have rooms left, just none with jacuzzi's! We really wanted to go to the Sandman in Richmond 'cause it's suuuper nice, but no worries, apparently our hotel is pretty nice! |

Oh and my opinion is: Corporate America can kiss my ass, so I've never really cared about the day...Other than the sugar.
Every day, couples should try show each other some Valentine's-ish flava. If you really love each other, it won't be that difficult. |
