Friday Reality
7: 16am - On my way home on the our friendly transit from a night shift and it's already gridlocked all the way downtown.
7:29am - Cruising down Granville Street and the traffic is inching like a slug.
7:32am - Pass by Pacific Center Mall and there's two cruisers, and Rescue and Safety truck, and two ambulances. The bus slowly crawls past, and there's a man lying on the ground with his clothes ripped open, his body pale as a ghost, bystanders rubbing their eyes, and three paramedics hovering over his frail body trying to save him from the after life. The bus sits at this spot what seems like forever.
7:41am - Riding along Hastings and there's more commotion as the Vancouver street crew are early birds and pounding the ground with drills and plows, and it's so loud that you can't hear the bus driver announce the next stop.
7:49am - Exit the bus... see a line of homeless people waiting for the pharmacy to open. Yelling, shouting, bellowing surrounds the streets.
8:02am - Home. Can't sleep. Totally awake. Too much Friday reality.
