ICBC Claim for a ding?
Okay so yesterday I bumped into another car. She was coming into the parking lot, I was backing up. Ding. Wasn't more than 5 km/hr I'd say. Needless to say I wasn't about to drive off, so I got out, and talked with the lady driving her car. She was okay, nothing happened. Just for formality we exchanged all the info blablabla and she said she would call ICBC about it.
So I get a call today (as I was expecting) from ICBC inquiring about the incident. Question: Is there any chance I'll have to either pay something or get points on my license? (I can't afford another point, I already have 3 from a speeding ticket) I mean, the "hit" was nothing. There is no damage to my car, and I'm fairly sure no damage to her car as well. Her car is an old Accord or Civic can't remember, but it has those black "rubber" bumpers in the front (as opposed to my painted over bumper). She didn't sustain any injuries I mean, do you think ICBC or her will try and bleed money out of me? If she tries, I have a case. It was dark, she was coming in at an angle (very hard to spot), the parking lot was full (it was an election thingie going on) and the lanes were so cramped there was only room for 1 car at a time (hence why I as backing up, total traffic chaos) and not only that but her car was also lower than my field of vision because the parking lot itself is situated higher than the street, so she was basically on an upward slope. So how's it looking for me all you ICBC specialists? |

well ICBC is asking me to call them and give them this little confirmation code they left on our answering machine. Should I confirm?
And thanks for the tip. I'm pretty sure she works at the place in question where the "accident" happened. geez...I shoulda offered that first. |

Yeah but there is somthing i learned from my father ( Former car salesperson...) any impact sustained by the bumper on most "New Model" cars should be replaced for the reason the bumper is only designed for optimum preformance in One use... hope teh bitch doesn't figure that one out... ICBC wont tell her that i can tell you in all confidence... but as i c it thats the only real prollem you would possibly face and in reality you should like, Stringbeans suggested should go outside ICBC and give the bitch money ( Cheques work best THERE"S A RECORD IF SHE ACCEPTS)
Sincerly your local ICBC Rep. :moon: |

So I called ICBC and apparently the lady has some "damages" to her car, which I find hard to believe because my car (a firefly) has NO damage at all (little paint scratch that's it)
anyways, they said that they'll look at her car, assess any possible damage, give me a bill for any possible damage and if I pay that out of my pocket and not through insurance then my insurance won't increase. And I also don't get any points either (only police can give points). I also asked them if they could tell her that I want to settle out of ICBC, but it doesn't really matter, as long as the insurance stays right where it is. Fucking bloodsucking bitch. |

I just got rear ended yesterday, I'm going to icbc today to have my car checked out, I'm gonna get my bumper replaced if i can, it's not mangled, but the fucker was talking on his cell phone and plowed into me while I was stopped at a red light!! :finger:

^ it must have been a bad day for rear enders...cuz I was rear ended yesterday too. But my car had nothing happen to it. The car behind me had over $3000 damage done to it and was towed, the truck behind that had no damage, and the car behind that one was damaged too...yeah that's right a 4 car accident on hwy 1 at 9:30am. but I'm not liable for anything. I wasn't hurt. and nothing happened to my car (because the car behind me just pushed me up a bit).

ICBC will at the very least remove the bumper and inspect and then put it back on. I have been rearended 3 times in the past 3-4 years at very slow speed and they have done this everytime.... I can tell you that the estimate for an integra and a 5th gen prelude are both 800 - 900 dollars
