Not sure what to do with your Grad clothes?
So after you grad (girls especially...) how much more use are you gonna get out of that grad dress??
Seriously.....like a wedding gown it can be something you lug around for a ridiculously long time never to wear again kept only for sentimental reasons But we all know how important that PROM day was ...how we fussed over what to wear and who to go with and blah blah blah but what about the teens who can't afford to make their Grad all shiney and great? Maybe it's just one superficial night...but i think it's one that all teens deserve A night to just be shiney that's where the Cinderella Project comes into play - they collect tuxes and dresses and make them avaible to teens who really couldn't afrod it any other way http://thecinderellaproject.com/cind...erenceblue.php So if your dress still looks great - and you're never going to wear it...why not let someone else have a great night in ? I'm going in the very near future ...if you have something suitable - feel free to drop me a PM or go yourself to one of the drop off locations! Last edited by Jingles; Mar 02, 04 at 11:04 AM. |

I think that is such a great program, it really helped out my friend for grad. It's such a heartbreaking thing when girls who can't afford to spend the hundreds on their outfit as other girls miss out on such a special night because they have nothing to wear :(
I'm NEVER getting rid of my prom dress, it's vintage and not your average princess dress so i probably will wear it one day. however, I'm deffinately going to offer my Make-up skills for free to any of the girls that want their make up done proffesionally. OooOh aahhh I'm a professional now! (or well.. when I start getting paid for it) the program also takes shoes and accesories as far as I know. |

Ahaha Claire mine was 50 bux too! It was a green, home made dress from the 50's. Very Audrey Hepburne/Jackie O.
It's one of a kind and I will wear it again, which is why I'm keeping it. But I'm thinking of checking out the vintage stores again and finding a cheap dress to donate anyways. And these people are right, who cares how much you spent on the thing? That's almost selfish to keep it in your closet because you think giving it away will what..? Take an expensive hanger-warmer away from you? This way you will make a girl very very happy, fuck 500 dollars, that's priceless :) Maybe you should have thought about spending a few hundred bucks on a dress you'll only wear once before you bought it if the price is such a big deal. |

ive worn the top half of my dress a plenty, its a killer corset...
i would love to be able to give my dress away, but i cant. too much sentiment ... and i also have remodeling plans for it. so they take accessories eh? i got so much jewlery from my grandma its crazy... i think i will have to give some. i was origionally building up the curage to drop it off at a local value village but givin them to this program would make it alot easier. |

totally great....
my mom was asking me the other day "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH IT?" and I wasn't sure I wanted to let it go (ivory gown from venus & mars with like flower vines for straps...just GORGEOUS) Unfortunately, I had it totally custom tailored to have it fit me exactly perfectly (meaning, I'll never fit into it again) thanks marayah! |

I have 2 grad dresses and I have never even worn the second one except for when I went to the fitting! Don't ask how I ended up with 2, I just couldn't decide which I liked more. But I could never get rid of either of them, they mean way to much to me. I have acutally lost weight since grad so now the dresses are both a little bit big on me, but I still hope I get the chance to wear them again.
